Chapter 6

Jade's pov

The people that was standing at the door was my mom, my dad, and Jack's mom. Those were the three people I wasn't looking forward to seeing. At this point I rather be fighting with the bullies. Jack backed away from the door and stood by my side. I have never been so scared in my life by my parents. But something came over me, And that something was anger. "What took you so long" I said while crossing my arms. Nobody said anything, but my mom walked over to me and slapped me hard across the face. I fell to the ground and held my hand where she hit me. "WHY THE HELL DID YOU DO THAT!" My dad yelled. Jack sat down on the floor and tried to help me up.

"SHE DESERVED IT DAVID!" My mom yelled back. Then she turned back around and pushed Jack out of the way. While I was still on the floor my mom started to kick me really hard. My dad stepped in and stopped my mom from kicking me. But he was to late. I passed out, My stomach and legs hurt like crazy and I couldn't move. My lip started to bleed from the way my mom slapped me. I was just in so much pain.

Jack's pov

Jade's mom pushed me against a wall and started to kick Jade really hard. I didn't know what to do and my mom just stood there and watched. I pulled out my phone and called 911 while Jade's dad was trying to stop her mom. I told them what was happening and they said that there on there way. I was so relieved when Jade's mom stopped kicking her, But when I noticed that Jade was started to faint I bursted into tears. I just told her that I loved her and now she was being abused by her on mother. I was just so upset and angry at the same time.

When the police and ambulance finally arrived they took Jade's mom and put her in a police car. Then the put Jade on of those bed thingies and carried her out to the truck. I quickly ran up to one of the paramedics and asked them if I can go in the truck with her. They said sure and let me go in with her. Once they closed the doors we headed off to the hospital. I held Jade's hand in mine and cried. I love her so much I just can't handle seeing her like this.

Once w arrived at the hospital they loaded her out of the truck. They said I was allowed to go with them because I was only on person. So I ran with them into a room where they put her in. They told I would need to wait outside the door until they say it's ok for me to come in. So I did as told and stood outside the door. I didn't want to sit down and I didn't want to relax. All I wanted is to go home with Jade.

(30 minutes later)

About 30 minutes later the doctor came outside and greeted me. "Hello I'm Dr. Kyle and you are Jack right" He said. I just nodded me head in response. "Is she going to be ok?" I asked. "Why don't you see for yourself" He said as he opened the door to let me in. I walked into the room and saw Jade lying down in the hospital bed with her eyes closed. "It seems that it wasn't just Jade's mom that hurt her" The doctor said. "What else did you find?" I asked curiously. "Well we found that she took some pills and attempted suicide. But she didn't take enough to actually kill her." He explained. "She didn't take any pills tonight, I was in the same room as her. I f she did I would have stopped her." I said to the doctor. "It wasn't tonight, It was a couple days ago" He said as I looked at her. "Will she be ok though?" I asked again. "We don't know yet, she wasn't made a recovery, We would have to keep her overnight" The doctor said as I looked down.

"Would it be possible for me to stay with her overnight?" I asked. He nodded and smiled. "Thank you" I said and sighed in relief. "Um the nurse will be here soon so you can just have a seat in that chair over there" He said pointing at a recliner chair. I nodded and took a seat in the chair which was next to Jade. The doctor walked out of the room and the nurse stepped in.

"Hello I'm nurse Jackie and you must be Jack. The doctor told me that you were spending the night. Would you like me to bring you some snacks or something to drink?" She asked nicely. This was pretty good timing because I haven't hade anything to eat or drink since 5:30pm. "Um sure what do you have?" I asked. "Well we have a soda machine and some chips" She said. "Um can I get a Pepsi and some chips please" I asked. "Sure thing, What kind of chips?" She asked. "Potato chips please" I said. She walked out of the room to go grab the snacks. I looked at Jade and almost started crying. Why would she do this to herself? How did I not know she did this? And only a couple days ago?

Memory

Me and Jade were laying in the field behind our school. Jade was 13 and I was 14. We were really good friends at the time and she would always have my back and I would have hers. Well on that day we made a promise. We made a promise that we would never die on each other unless we died together. "Jack can I ask you something?" She said. "Sure what is it" I said back. "Can you make a promise to never die on me" She said. I looked at her in shock. "Why would I do that?" I asked. "Ugh I mean promise me that you won't die before me" She said. "Yeah I knew what you meant but why would I die on you in the first place, Your my best friend I wouldn't want you to go through that" I said as she smiled. "Let's make a promise that we would never die on each other unless were dying together" She said as we both stood up and hugged. Now most "Normal" people would pinky swear but we thought that was to tacky. So now when we make a promise we hug instead of doing that.

End of Memory

I will never for get that day. The nurse came back with my snacks and a blanket. She handed me the snacks and blanket then went over to check on Jade. I put the blanket over me and pulled out my phone. I started to text Zane and ask him what happened after everything. He said that they got out of the small attic, My brother went home with my mom, Kim went home with him and is spending the night there since her parents are on vacation. I just said ok and asked if everyone was ok. He said that everyone got out of there alive and that the bullies left and went back home. I just said ok and told him that I will be staying in the hospital with Jade. He just said ok and hoped that she was ok.

The nurse told me that her shift was down and that Jade seemed to be ok, but we won't know until morning. I just said ok as she left the room. I stated to get tired but I didn't want to fall asleep knowing the kind of condition she's in. So I stayed up on my phone and eating my snacks. I texted my brother and told him to bring a bag of snacks and cloths to the hospital. He said ok and that he will start packing a bag right now. I told him thank you and to bring it around 8:30am. He said ok and told me that he was going to go to bed. I said ok and turned off my phone. I decided it was getting pretty late and that I need to get some rest. I got up off of the chair and went over to Jade. I kissed her on the forehead and whispered "I love you" then went back in the chair. I pulled the blanket over me and got comfortable. I closed my eyes and hoped that in the morning she will be ok.
