Chapter 19

Sunday

Zane's pov

Yesterday might have been one of the most scariest moments in my life. I went to the bathroom to check on my cuts and bruises. They still looked horrible. I don't think I can face Kim today looking like this. Obviously she already knows about everything and she's going to come over today to check on me. Come to realize I have nothing to do, but wait for her to knock on my door.

I tried fixing my hair so that it would cover some of the bruises. I looked at my arms to see that the cuts were still deep. I put on a hoodie to hide my arms, but I didn't know what I was going to do with the rest of me. I heard a knock on my bedroom door. Knowing that it was Kim I opened the door with no hesitation.

Kim ran right into my arms and hugged me tightly. "Zane I hat e to see you this way. I'm so sorry I couldn't do anything. I should've pushed them off of you. But I was just so-" "Kim don't worry. You did the best option on getting Jack and Jade. If you gotten in the fight you could've gotten hurt" I said cutting her off. She started crying. "I just don't want to see you hurt" She said as I kissed her head. "It's going to be ok. these bruises will disappear soon" I said as she kissed my lips.

Jade's pov

"Jack I have to go see if he's ok" I said trying to walk out the door. "Kim's probably already over there taking care of him" Jack said trying to pull me back inside. "Well maybe she can use some help" I said still trying to get out of the house. "She is probably doing just fine" Jack said as I elbowed him in the stomach. He let go as I took off running.

I reached Zane's house and knocked on the door. Kim opened the door and immediately hugged me. "Zane will be happy to see you. get in here" She said while pulling me inside. I ran up the stairs and opened Zane's door. "Jade" He said while getting up. I hugged him as he hugged me. "I'm so glad your here" Zane said as we broke apart. "It took me a while to get out of the house but I'm here now to see how your doing" I said as he laughed. "I'm doing ok. Did Jack block the door so that you couldn't come over?" Zane asked. "Not really. When I was trying to walk through the door and he was trying to pull me back inside" I said as we frowned.

"Does he not want you to see me or something?" He asked as I sat down on his bed. "I don't know he might have some kind of issue with you or something. Wait. Zane I'm so sorry I have to go. I'll be back tonight at midnight." I said while running out of the house. I ran all the way back to Jack's house and busted through the door. "JACK!!!" I yelled through out the house.

Jack came running out of his room to face me. "Jade are you ok? Are you hurt?" He asked as he put his hands on my shoulders. I pushed his hands away and said "You lied to me. You said that you will never hide anything from me." "What did Zane say to you?" He asked in a deep voice. "This is not about Zane. This is about you. What is your problem with Zane?" I asked as he started walking away.

"Hey. Don't walk away from me I'm not done talking to you" I said as I followed him into his room. He started throwing all my cloths into my bag. "If you like to worry about Zane so much you can live with him" He said while handing me my bag. "Jack..." I said starting to cry. "GET OUT" He yelled as I ran out the door crying.

"What did I do?" I asked myself. I tried to stop myself from crying but I couldn't. Jack never acted this way before. I'm worried about him. When I reached Zane's door I kept stopping myself from knocking. I decided to just go somewhere else. I walked down the sidewalk as it started to rain. The rain didn't bother me though because I love rain. "JADE" I heard someone yell behind me. I stopped walking but I didn't want to look behind me.

"What are you doing out here? Come on let's get you home" Someone said as I turned around to see my dad. I hugged him tightly as more tears rolled down my cheeks. he hugged back and said "I know it's hard but it will be ok as soon as we go home." We into the car and drove home. I can't believe it my dad is out of the hospital and I get to go home.

"So why were you out in the rain by yourself with your back?" My dad asked as we pulled into the drive way. "Jack kicked me out" I said while getting out of the car. "Oh honey, what happened?" He asked as we stepped inside the house. "I don't know he got upset" I said as I sat down on the couch. The door bell rang as I got up to open the door. I opened the door to see Jack standing there with his head down. "Jack" I said as he looked up at me. His eye was swollen, his lip was bleeding, and his nose was bleeding.

I pulled him inside and shut the door. I didn't even want to know what happened. I just wanted him to be ok. I dragged him up to my room and into the bathroom. He didn't say a word to me as I cleaned the blood off of his face. "Jack what happened and why are you here?" I asked as a tear rolled down his face. "Me and my mom got into an argument about me kicking you out. She punched me kicked me and told me to get out. I came here to apologize not because of my mom, because of the way I acted. I shouldn't have kicked you out. I should've told you the truth." He said as he started crying. I hugged him tightly and told him that it was ok. "I'm so sorry I hurt you Jade" He said as my dad walked in. "Um Jack your mom called and told me to tell you to come back home...I told her that your going to stay here tonight" My dad said as Jack thanked him.

"Keep in mind it's only for tonight. Hopefully this gives you some time to sort things out and gives your mom some space. Because some time apart might just be the thing that fixes all of this" My dad added as Jack nodded. "So how does everyone feel about quesadilla's for dinner?' I asked as My dad and Jack faces lit up. "I'll take that as a yes" I said while walking downstairs.

While my dad and Jack sat on the couch and talked. I started making the quesadillas. I turned on the stove and put the pan on the burner. I opened the fridge and grabbed the cheese, then I reached into the cabinet and grabbed the tortillas. While flipping the quesadilla on the other side I hit my hand on the pan. "Ow" I said while rubbing my hand. "You ok?" My dad asked. "Yeah I'm fine just hit my hand on the pan" I said as I put the quesadillas on plates.

I put the plates on the table and walked into the living room. I grabbed the tv remote and turned off the tv. "What did you do that for" My dad and Jack said at the same time. "Dinner is ready" I said while walking out of the living room. We all sat down at the table and started eating.

After dinner we watched a little bit of tv. "Ok we all have lives to live tomorrow so I say we get some sleep" I said as they started laughing. "Babe I've never seen you this mature before" Jack said as I started laughing. "It's not maturity it's reasonability" I said as we all went to our rooms. "I'll be right back I'm going to go talk to my dad for a little bit" I said as Jack nodded.

I walked out of my bedroom and to my dad's room. I knocked on the door as he opened it. "Dad I need to talk to you" I said as we let me in. We sat down on his bed and didn't say anything for a moment. "Mom's out to get me" I said as he stared at me in shock. "How so?" He asked. "Well she sent a few of your guards to come take me away. She started spreading rumors around school. Dad she's making my life more miserable than it already was" I told as he looked down. "Jade I have to tell you something that me and your mom have been keeping a secret" He started to say.

"Your mom never loved you. She wanted a boy and I wanted a girl. So we betted $20. And she was pissed when the doctor handed you to her. Her exact words were "I didn't ask for this" And then she handed you to me" My dad said as I started crying.

"So all my life she hated me" I said as my dad slowly nodded. "She was about to put here up for adoption but I didn't let her. When I held you in my arms I knew that I couldn't let you go. I always loved you Jade" He said as I hugged him tightly. "So my sexuality doesn't matter anymore" I said as he shook his head no.

After that I went upstairs to my room. I walked in and saw Jack sound asleep. I smiled and crawled into bed. He wrapped his arms around me and held me close to him. His eyes opened "So how did it go?" He asked. "I don't want to talk about it" I said while closing my eyes. "Understandable" He said as he fell asleep as well.
