Chapter 11

Jack's pov

I got up off the ground and stood next to Jade. "Can I help you?" She asked looking at me. "Nope" I said. "Then why are you here?" She asked smiling. "What can't a guy stand next to his girlfriend without being judged" I said crossing my arms. "There's other places you can stand Jack" Zane said looking at me. "Well I want to stand here" I said. "Well while your standing here could you maybe do the dishes" Jade said while walking out of the kitchen. I sighed and started cleaning the dishes. My mom opened the door and walked inside. "Your off early" I said while putting the dishes in the dish washer. "Well I'm not off yet. I came by to check on you guys make sure you guys are ok" She said looking at all of us. "We're fine mom. So you can go back to working" I said looking at her. "Listen here Jack I don't know what has gotten into you but I am this close to taking you to your fathers house for the weekend. So you either stop with the attitude or deal with your father" She walked out of the house and slammed the door behind her. "She's such a bitch" I mumbled to myself. I walked into the living room and sat down on the couch. The room was silent and no one was making eye contact. After a few minutes of sitting in silence I got up and went to my room.

I closed the door behind me and sat down on my bed. I really didn't know what was wrong with me. Was it stress? I don't know anymore. "Hey Jack can I come in?" Jade asked while opening the door. "What was the point of asking if you were going to come in anyways" I asked as she sat down next to me. "I guess it was just a warning" She said. "Is Zane ever leaving?" I asked. "I don't know. Is he a problem" She asked while looking down. "No he's not a problem to me. But I think I'm a problem to him" I said as she looked up at me. "And why do you think that?" She asked. "I mean do you see the way he acts around me" I said as she laughed. "What's so funny?" I asked her. "Your thinking too hard. Zane's your friend. You should talk to him" She said and walked out of the door.

I got up and went outside to find Zane standing on the porch. "Hey" I said. He looked at me and looked away. "Hey" He said. "Look I don't know what your problem is with me. But you need to tell me so I can do something about it" I said as he turned around and looked at me. "Alright you wanna know the problem. It's you being together with Jade. I like her too. So do me a favor and stay away from her." He said and walked inside. Jade came outside and stood beside me. "So what happened?" She asked me. "Zane likes you too and he told me to stay away from you." I said and walked away.

Jade's pov

I stormed into the house and walked over to Zane. "Jack told me what you said to him." I said trying to calm down. "Relax. did he tell you that I like you?" Zane asked smiling. "Save your smiles. Don't think just because you drove Jack away means that you can be with me. Because it's never going to happen so why don't you go and find someone else" I said as he got up and walked out of the house. "DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT COMING BACK EITHER!!!!!" I yelled after him. I shut the door and called Jack. Nothing but a voicemail. I put my phone in my back pocket and put on my jacket. I opened the door and ran to my house.

When I got there my dad was standing outside. I know I shouldn't talk to my dad but I really need his help. "Hey dad." I said waving at him. "Hey Jade what are you doing here?" He asked as he gave me a hug. "Dad I need your help. Jack ran away and I don't know where he went." I said as I pulled away. "Get in the car were gonna find him" He said as we both got in the car. We pulled out of the driveway and started looking for Jack. It took a couple minutes until we found him at a horse ranch. I jumped out of the car and ran over to him. He hugged me and said he was sorry. I told him that it was ok and that Zane was no longer at his house. "Well that's good to hear. Do you want to go on a ride?" He asked as I looked at the horses. "Sure" I said looking a at him. He smiled and saddled up two horses for us. I said good bye to my dad and stood next to Jack. "You ready?" He asked as I nodded my head. We got on the horses and went riding down a trail.
