Chapter 4

It has now been at least 4 hours since the last time me and Jack said anything. I was starting to wonder if he was felling ok. His brother kept looking at me, but I didn't pay attention. I was about to get up and walk outside, but Jack stopped me. I sat back down and continued to watch cartoons. Finally after 2 more hours of cartoons Jack's mom came out into the living room. I stood up and told her that I wanted to speak to her in private. We walked outside and sat on the porch. "So do you know anything?" I asked. Her eyes widened so I knew she had an answer. "Jack didn't want me to tell you,but I think you need to know, See what happened was that Jack was looking for you and Kim, He said that when he walked down the hallway he saw you get knocked out by a jock" She said. "He told me that he called your dad to come pick you guys up so that's how you ended up here" She said taking a breath. I couldn't believe what I just heard. I was so mad that Jack just left Kim behind like that. And the fact that he didn't want me to know, just made me ore upset. "I'll be back" I said running off before she could stop me.

I knew what I had to do, And I knew where I was going to go. I was heading back to the school to rescue Kim. Once I got to the school everyone was on their lunch break. I walked into the school and tried to sniff out Kim. I knew she had to be around here somewhere. I walked into the cafeteria and everyone stared a me. I didn't have time for everyone else, I had to find Kim. Some guy walked up behind me and tapped me on the shoulder. I turned around and saw that it was Zane. I gave him a hug and he did the same. "Do you know where Kim is?" I asked pulling away. He nodded and lead me to where she was.

We found her near a dumpster crying and bleeding. I picked her up off the floor and carried her through the school. Everyone saw what they did her and started to feel bad. Zane decided to go with us back to Jack's house, Since he didn't want to be alone. Once we got to the house I walked inside and took Kim to Jack's mom. His mom was a nurse so I trusted her. She told me to wait in the living room while she cleaned Kim up. I did as told and went into the living room to join everyone else. I was still pissed off at Jack, And I think Zane was too.

Me and Zane started talking about school and about what happened earlier. Jack got pissed off and walked outside. "I'm going to go see if he's ok" I said while getting up. I walked outside and saw Jack walking down the sidewalk. I caught up to him and stopped him. "Jack what's wrong?" I asked him. He didn't say anything and looked down. "Jack you can tell me" I told him but he wouldn't say anything. He kept walking so I followed him. He stopped and looked at me "What do you want?" He asked. "What's wrong?" I asked him once again. He sighed and looked down. It seemed like he didn't want to talk about it, So I decided to give him a hug. The one thing I learned from my dad, is that actions speak louder than words. He hugged back and didn't let go. "It's going to be ok Jack" I said as he hugged tighter. "I don't want to lose you Jade" He said. "Your not going to lose me Jack, I won't let that happen" I said as he started tearing up. "Promise?" He asked. "Promise" I told him as we finally pulled apart. "Come on let's go home" I said as we started heading back.
