War was upon them when Tony landed on his pad outside of Stark Tower. His gaze flew over the entirety of his surroundings, locking onto Loki standing in his living room, his daughter seated on the couch behind him. As Tony walked in, Loki smirked like he was the king of the world. "Please tell me you're going toappeal to my humanity."

The avenger with no super power other than scary intelligence looked up as he grabbed a glass. "Uh, actually, I'm planning tothreaten you."

"You should have left your armor onfor that." Laughed the God of Mischief.

Monica looked at her dad in confusion as he shrugged. "Yeah, it's seen a bit of mileage. You've got the uh- blue stick ofdestiny. Would you like a drink?" He asked Loki, holding out the glass of scotch.

Loki looked at Tony in distrust. "Stalling me won't change anything."

Iron Man waved his hands dismissively. "No, no, no- threatening. No drink? You sure? I'm having one." He sipped the whiskey.

Loki glanced at Monica in confusion as to her father's strange actions. "The Chitauri are coming, nothingwill change that. What have I tofear?"

"The Avengers." The room went silent for a moment as Monica slowly shifted in her seat and stood up. "It's what we callourselves, sort of like a team.'Earth's Mightiest Heroes' type ofthing."

"Yes, I'm met them." Loki said with a nod, unimpressed with Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

"Yeah, takes us a while to get anytraction, I'll give you that one." Tony relented as he walked to the other side of the bar, this time with a new bracelet on. "But, let's do a head count here. Your brother the demi-god, my daughter an highly intelligent woman who has picked up a few tips and tricks from Asgard, a super soldier a living legendwho kind of lives up to the legend, a man with breath-taking angermanagement issues, a couple ofmaster assassins, and you, bigfella, you've managed to piss offevery single one of them."

Loki grinned. "That was the plan."

"Not a great plan. When they come, and they will, they'll come for you." The inventor foretold.

Loki bristled at the prophecy. "I have an army." He boasted, as though that was supposed to scare them.

Monica noticed one of the bracelet things on the table and reached for it, noticing her fathers nod as she did. "We have a hulk." The bracelet slipped onto her wrist easily.

"Oh, I thought the beast hadwandered off." Loki taunted. Monica rolled her eyes.

"Yeah- you're missing the point. There's no throne, there is noversion of this, where you come outon top. Maybe your army comes andmaybe it's too much for us, butit's all on you." Tony glared at him as he moved closer to Loki. "Cause if we can'tprotect the earth, you can bedamned well sure we'll avenge it."

Loki flipped his staff and looked at Tony with an evil smirk, as though he had just won a game. "How will your friends have time for me, when they're so busy fighting you?" He asked and tapped Tony's chest with a clink. Nothing happened and Tony remained unfazed. "This usually works."

"Well, performance issues, you know." Monica taunted from behind him. Loki's hand shot out and tossed her, knocking into Tony and sending them flying across the room.

"Anytime now JARVIS." Tony rasped.

Loki angrily grabbed Tony again. "You will all fall before me."

"Deploy." Tony was thrown off the building and Monica was kicked off the ledge.

Quickly she flipped her body so that she was gliding still at a deadly rate, towards the Earth. Her eyes closed as she wished for a quick death. That is, until an arm reached out and caught her, flying off with her in his arms. She looked up, expecting her father and instead seeing Thor. He grinned at her. Just then her suit came up and embraced her, the thrusters kicking to life, allowing her to fly on her own.

"Thanks Point Break." Tony said with a smirk. Thor shook his head and continued to Loki.

That was fine because just then the army decided to come through. "Right, army." Tony muttered. He and his daughter shared a glance, nodding to each other before racing off to attack the alien army.

Monica raced through the streets, her eyes locking on a small child being surrounded by Chitauri. She took out three of them with her repulsors, jumped out of the suit, and ended the other two with her Asgaurdian knives quickly.

The child looked at her in awe. "You're back!" He shouted in glee. "You are so cool! What's your name?" He asked her eyes alight with excitement of the woman superhero saving his life.

"And what should we call you?" Frigga asked the woman warrior kneeling before her. She had surpassed all of her asgaurdian equals in all fields and the woman also knew she was the apple of her sons eyes.

Monica looked up at the goddess and her husband in confusion. "My name is Monica."

"No, from now on, Lady Stark, the stars shall remember your you as Syn, Goddess of Defense and Truth." Odin told her, accepting her into the ranks of the Asgaurdian people with open arms.

"My name is Syn." Monica told the boy, redeploying her suit and taking him to a safe place before rejoining the battle.

"Stark's, are you seeing this?" Steve asked in shock.

"Affirmative." Monica responded as she shot another solider out of the sky and jumped out of her suit, sending one of their ships through three others.

"Seeing, still working on believing." Tony replied as he continued his own fight.

"Thor is working on Loki, I'm taking out as many as I can." Monica informed the team, taking out another ten of the soldiers.

"Where's Banner, has he shown up yet?" Tony asked as he flew through New York City, this time not as relaxing as the others.

Steve was taken aback, why would Banner be here. "Banner?"

"Just keep me posted." Tony ordered as he continued his battle.

Monica caught sight of Thor and Loki on Stark Tower just as Loki stabbed Thor. "No!"

"Sentiment." Loki sneered at his brother.

Landing on the pad, Monica ran towards Thor just as he picks up Loki again and drops him, Loki rolling off the building and landing on one of the ships. "Thor, are you okay?" Monica asked worriedly as she reached his side.

"Syn, I'm fine." He told her, calling her by her Goddess name as he does during battles. "Get back to defending people, I have it handled here." The Goddess reluctantly nodded and jumped from the ledge, her suit following.

Thor looked to where the Portal and Selvig was and sighed.

This would be a long battle.

A/N:

I know I don't usually do these because I believe that my story shouldn't need my explaining if I tell it right but I do believe that some explanation is in order for my mysterious absence for a while.

Unfortunately life always finds a way to catch up with you, which  I found it has with me for a few months on two fronts. The first round was a slew of unfortunate and unpredictable in some cases deaths that I experienced both in my personal life and at my school. In the span of six weeks I lost four people, two of them very near to me. In the wake of that I found myself trapped in a period of depression while I was trying to figure out what I was doing with my life and where I wanted to go. I am updating because I now feel a little bit better, obviously less people are dying, and I am still working through some of my problems but they are getting better as I go.

Alright, yeah, that covers it. Also, I updated the cover, this is one I made so yay and definitely check it out.  I have to say, on of my better ones.
