Tony sighed as he checked his phone again. No matter what Monica always texts him good night but for the last two nights he hasn't heard anything. He decided to call her.

"Hey, you've reached Monica Stark, I'm either not avalible, don't know you, or am purposefully ignoring you. Leave a message, unless you're the last one then, well, awkward. Kay bye!"

The tone sounded and Tony started. "Hey Mon, it's me. Uh, god I'm not good at this worried father thing, but call me? Or text me, I don't know but I really want to know that you're okay baby." He ended the call and put his head in his hands just as Pepper walked in with Jason.

"No word?" She asked, worry lines were etched into her forehead.

Tony shook his head.

Jason bounced on the balls of his feet with anxiety. "After everything with in the past few weeks and chooses now to go missing."

The door opened, much to the shock to the three in the room it was not Monica who walked in, but instead it was Director Furu, Agent Coulson, and Agent Romanoff. "Damn it, this is never good." Tony worked himself up.

"Have a seat." Fury gruffly ordered, the three spies sitting across from Tony, Pepper, and Jason. "Let me brief you, Agent Coulson and Agent Stark had been investigating strange events in New Mexico. There was a problem and in attempts to terminate the threat Monica was pulled through a form of portal to another realm. That was when we lost contact with her. Last we heard she was with some allies that SHIELD has recently acquired however we are unaware how long she'll be there." Fury told the three.

All of them felt their world crash and burn because Monica was central to their beings, without her Tony had no clue what to do, Jason would have to hold on for his daughter and Pepper for the company but Tony realized quickly that he had no one, no one but Monica.

He stood numbly and walked downstairs. "Tony Stark." He mumbled, watching her lab open. He walked in and the lights turned on. In the center he saw a bottle of whiskey, probably meant for mourning Jake but Tony took it and cracked it open, taking gulps of it desperately.

He just wanted his daughter back.

Monica blinked awake in the same room that she had woken up in earlier. "Lady Monica, you're awake." Thor said from her bedside.

Monica groaned as she blinked st the ceiling. "I can't go home can I?" She asked. The God of Thunder said nothing, simply reaching his hand out and grabbing hers comfortingly. Monica felt the tears rise to her line of sight and spill onto her cheeks as the possible temporary loss of everyone she knew dawned on her. She sat up and went to wiped her eyes, her hand was caught and Thor brought her into his arms comfortingly, and it was everything the mourning pair needed in that moment.

Someone who knew what they were going through.

Both of them chose to destroy the only known way back to Earth, but neither of them were happy about it. While Asgard celebrated them and hailed them as heros, the heros were far from happy with this outcome, only they were happier with it than if an entire genocide was on their shoulders.

The door flew open, Frigga and Odin striding into the room to see the pair in a comforting embrace. "Oh! Oh my dear, what happy news! My son finally found a lover!" Frigga shouted in glee.

The apparent "lovers" looked at each other in mortification and shoved away from each other, both blushing furiously. "No, we aren't, we were just, I- we-" the pair started to explain at the same time.

Odin started laughing at the two joyously. "Oh we're sure. There is a great feast to be held in both of your honors and to welcome Monica as our new guest tonight."

Monica nodded but then caught sight of the four women behind them. "Who are they?"

Thor started stiffling laughs with his hand, earning a sharp glare from Monica. "They are some of the finest handmaidens Asgard has to offer! They will assist you in anything you need during your stay here." Frigga beamed.

Monica felt her face drain of blood but somehow managed a smile if thanks as Odin and Frigga left. When the doors slammed shut, entrapping Thor and Monica with the new handmaidens, Monica turned a hateful glare to the god as he tried to leave. "Nope! If I have to stay then so do you!"

Thor lifted his eyebrows and waited for Monuca to understand what her words meant. "Damn it, I hate you." She cursed.

"See you at the feast!" Thor shouted, leaving Monica alone with the demons.

"Oh god."

Thor entered the dining hall unaccompanied, he was wearing his typical Thor garb and took the seat next to his father. The dinning hall was lively, laughter was heard everywhere in celebration of the victory. Glancing around, Thor furrowed his eyebrow. "Where is Lady Stark?"

Odin chuckled a little bit and not a moment later the door opened and Monica walked in. Her hair was slicked into a braid going down her back and she adorned a red dress with gold jewlery.

She was absolutely breathtaking.

Thor stood alpng with the rest of the hall and clapped. "Lady Stark, come sit." Frigga invited with a warm smile.

The girl sat across from Thor and gave him a small smile, it wasn't a happy smile, Monica hadn't had one since she left Earth, but it was a smile that shared their sympathies. Both of them saw it as a bleak event to celebrate.

Sif and the warriors three were sharing their versions of the great battle while Monica ate in silence. "Of course we have Lady Stark to thank for our kings safety and for aiding our realm." Sif spoke, semding a gratefull smile to Monica, she raised her glass. "To Lady Stark."

Thor raised his glass and said the words. Monica smiled softly and shook her head. "I only aided the real hero, Prince Thor, Asgard is lucky to have such a valiant heir." She raised her glass to him and winked. "To Prince Thor and Asgard!"

The rest of the table joined in and started laughinf and cheering again, egged on by Monica's statement.

Within the celebrations, which were still ongoing four hours later, Monica slipped away and found herself in a garden. She was entranced by the tall, stoic tree that was blooming beautiful flowers for Asgard's spring months.

"The tree of life is a sight to behold indeed." Frigga spoke up from behind her.

Monica whirled around and bowed her head to the Queen. "Majesty." She greeted softly.

"I have more reason than most to thank you, walk with me." Frigga gestured, strolling through the palace gardens as she talked. "I was much like you, when I first came to the Asgardian palace. I was awed by the power but I was also determined to protect those I cared about. When I care for someone, it's a fierce sense of protectiveness for them. Often I say that I have a realm of children, because my people are my children, and you saved them."

"I wasn't good enough Majesty. He still fell, and I will always carry that with me." Monica stated, obviously thinking of Loki.

"Good, remembering those you couldn't save makes you more determined to save more people." Frigga told Monica, who nodded. The Queen's gaze traveled up towards Odin and Thor. "I worry for him."

"He misses Loki, he's convinced that he could have done more to save him." Monica informs the Queen.

"And the Earth woman?" She asks, Monica knowing she meant Jane.

"He hasn't talked to me about that. They were close friends though at the very least, he misses her, but he loves his people more and is happy to be home.  She taught him our way, with some help from me." Monica explained. "I think what he misses most is Earth, he fell in love with the people and the what we can do for each other."

The Queen turned to Monica, her gaze intense. "Be there for him, help him please. He needs his friends and you have become one of his most trusted. Odin will be teaching him how to rule and I would lile for nothing better than for you to help advise him."

Everything went silent as Monica contenplated her answer before nodding. "Of course my lady."
