The group was gathered in the park to see Monica, athor, and Loki off. Mainly Monica and Thor and to make sire Loki didn't try anything. The three grabbed onto the tesseract and transported away, Monica leaving her home for the second time, this one under less mysterious circumstances.

Tony looked at Banner and took off towards Stark Towers in his convertable with him.

Steve went his seperate way on his motorcycle, clad in a leather jacket he took off towards his own future.

The assisin pair Natasha and Clint went back to work, protecting the planet silently.

Fury dealt with the board.

"Where are the Avengers?"

The Director of SHIELD looked at the council member. "I'm not currently tracking their whereabouts. I'd say they've earned a leave of absence."

Always concerned with power, a second member voiced his own concern. "And the Tesseract?"

"The Tesseract is where it belongs: out of our reach." Fury stated sternly.

Of course this didn't bode well eith the council. "That's not your call."

"I didn't make it. I just didn't argue with the god that did." Fury stated, thinking of Thor, no one in their right mind would go against that.

"So you let him take it and the war criminal, Loki, who should be answering for his crimes?" The same council member questioned in outrage.

"Oh, I think he will be."

CI don't think you understand what you've started. Letting the Avengers loose on this world. They're dangerous." The council member stated with distaste.

Rather unconcerned, Fury nodded. "They surely are. And the whole world knows it. Every world knows it."

"Was that the point of all this? A statement?"

"A promise." And with that Fury walked out of the room, where Agent Hill joined him.

"Sir, how does it work now? They've gone their separate ways, some pretty extremely far. We get into a situation like this again, what happens then?" The agent asked as she joined him.

"They'll come back."

Not quite as confident in that fact as her leader, she looked wary. "You really sure about that?"

"I am."

"Why?"

Fury paused for a second before answering the question. "Because we'll need them to."
