Chapter 14: Protector

I always believe that God has a lot in store for me. Every person that I would meet, I know they have an important role in my life. I might not know what it is yet. But I’m pretty sure God has it all planned for me.

And in this case, it’s Gab. Since that day Gab told me weird stuffs, he became weirder every single day. I really don’t know what’s up with him. One day, he would pester me with his ‘charms’ and then for a second he would act like a jealous boyfriend. What’s up with this guy?

But honestly, I feel a bit awkward whenever I’m with him after nung nangyari. I can still remember that incident at feeling ko, I will never forget about it. Kahit sa panaginip ko, hina-hunting ako ng incident na yun and it’s creeping me out.

 “You’re the one I’m looking for.” He said and suddenly, I felt his arms around me.

For a moment, hindi ako naka-react. I was too shocked that I froze on my spot.

“Don’t ever leave me okay?” he said like a kid.

I was back to my senses and pushed him. “Wag mo nga akong minamanyak!”

He chuckled. “I guess I should take that as an okay.”

“Bakit? Did I say I’m fine with it?” I asked.

He shrugged. “You don’t really have to say it. You know, I can feel it.”

“And you wouldn’t really leave me.” He said. “I’m sure of that.”

“Confident ka yata?” I said and smirked.

He leaned closer to me with a smile on his face. “What Gab wants, Gab gets?”

“So you want me?” I asked confidently, but for a moment I regretted asking it.

“No.” he said. “Because I already like you.”

Natigilan ako. Pero I know he’s just fooling around. so I composed back myself and turned my back.

“Whatever! Tara na nga! Male-late na tayo.” I said and started walking ahead.

Kahapon lang, kinukulit niya ako about this outing with his friends. He wants me to be there daw. Malay ko ba kung anong kalokohan na naman ang naiisip ng lalaking yun. He really insisted for me to be there. Nag-offer pa siyang susunduin ako sa bahay. The nerve.

To shut him off, pumayag akong pumunta sa outing na yun. But I really did not intend to go. Days before that, kinausap na ako ng tita ko. She wants me to baby sit her twins since she has to go for a trip somewhere. Palagi lang namang ganito ang set up namin. Tita Ria is my only aunt who’ve trusted me so much. Halos lahat kasi sila, they think I am an irresponsible brat. Even my parents, they think of the same thing. Kaya minsan, they wouldn’t care kung anong ginagawa ko. They’ve already judge me though. Dahil lang sa isang pag-kakamaling nagawa ko that same year when I went to the States. But anyway, I need to forget about it. Focus muna ako sa mga pinsan ko na kahapon lang, dumating sa bahay.
