If I were to turn back time, I'd rather not tell that lie.
I've been hiding the truth from Eliza for years already, and I think anytime soon, malalaman at malalaman din niya ang totoo - na matagal ko nang kilala ang mga Teng.
I was wrong when I hid the truth from her. Pwede ko naman sanang aminin nalang sa kanya na kilala ko si Jeric, because he was the brother of my then boyfriend, Jeron - who is actually his boyfriend in the present. Siguro, hindi sana ganito kagulo ang sitwasyon namin. She could've been so happy to be with Jeric. And seeing her with Jeron wouldn't even be hard for me.
But I chose not to tell her anything, and this is the result.
"Okay ka lang Kim?" I heard Gretchen asked.
I looked at her and smiled awkwardly. "Yeah.. I was just-forget it. Ano nga yung pinag-uusapan natin?"
"I was asking you kung okay lang ba sa'yo yung set up niyo?" she asked. "You know, you, Jeron and Eliza?"
I took as sip from my drink and looked at her intently. "Honestly, it's pretty awkward."
"Wait." I snapped. "Did she, by chance, asked you about me and Jeric?"
Kumunot ang noo niya. "Well, she asked kung matagal nab a kayong magkakilala-"
"And???" I asked her apprehensively.
"And I told her na you've known him since highschool, because of Jeron." She said.
"What?!" I exclaimed.
She looked at me intently. "Wait, is there a problem?"
Natigilan ako. "A big big problem."
I immediately stood up from my seat and gather my things. Gretchen looked at me worriedly.
"Wait, can you explain what's happening?" she asked.
"She didn't know about me and Jeron." I said.
She gasped. "Oh my God."
"I just have to talk to her." I said as I turned my back and walked away.
"I'm really sorry Kim!" I heard her say.
I immediately drove my way to Eliza's house. I hope it's not yet too late to explain things. But I honestly don't know what to say to her. Hindi ko alam kung paano i-explain sa kanya kung bakit hindi ko sinabi yung tungkol sa amin ni Jeron, and about Jeric. What have I gotten myself into?
Nag-flashback lahat ng nangyari kanina. It was as if everything was meant to happen. It was as if it's meant for her to know the truth.
