It’s been awhile since I last went out to party. Nung nasa States ako halos libro lang ang lagi kong kaharap. Such a geek, I know. My friends would invite me to go out and have fun, kaso its not really my thing. I don’t really go to bars, well, kung may occasion lang talaga, or if kung feel kong pumunta.

“Hi miss.” A tall guy said as soon as I entered the club.

This is one reason kung bakit ayaw kong pumunta sa mga ganitong lugar. Ang damis bastos.

“Ang suplada mo naman miss.” Sabi niya as his colleagues chuckled.

I continued walking past by them. Buti naman hindi ako sinundan. Ang ingay sa loob. Another thing I hate about this place. The lights, they make me dizzy. Tapos yung smoke naman galing sa mga naninigarilyo, grabe, they just smoke like chimneys.

I looked around the vicinity while looking for my friends. Nahihilo ako. I just can’t stand the polluted smoke, tapos yung ilaw pa. I can’t see clearly.

After I watched the game ng UST at La Salle kanina, hinatid ko muna si Yza sa restaurant ng mommy niya, si tita Jane. She invited me to have dinner with them, pero I had to meet my friends ngayon, kaya I turned down her offer. Kaya nga I’m regretting now. Hassel yung traffic papunta ditto, tapos hassel din sa loob ng bar na ‘to, polluted masyado.

I made my way down the dance floor. Kailangan ko kasing dumaan. I need to find my freaking friends right away. Ayokong nag-iisa sa ganitong lugar. I’ve been calling them kanina pa. Pero ni isa, walang sumasagot. I’m doomed. I have to find them myself.

I stopped in my tracks nung may humarang sa daanan ko. “Hi miss.”

I raised my brow at him. Isa siya sa kasama nung dude kanina. He’s kinda tall, and I think medyo chinito, I’m not just sure, di masyadong clear eh. But I’m definitely sure, bastos din to. Tsk.

“The music’s nice. Why won’t you dance with me?” He said. Ang hangin!

“Sorry. I’m in a hurry.” Sabi ko sabay dinaanan lang siya.

“Wait, wait wait!” sabi niya. Well actually, pasigaw. Hindi kami masyadong magkarinigan sa loob bar.

Hinarangan na naman niya ako. “Miss, you’re here in a bar, so I suppose, you’re here to enjoy.”

I snorted. “Well, I’m sorry, but I’m not here to enjoy. May hinahanap lang ako.”

“Maybe I can help you.” He said and smiled. Akala mo naman ang gwapo. “Sige na, sino ba ang hinahanap mo?”

His reaction changed. “Don’t tell me you’re looking for your boyfriend?”

Ang chismoso naman ng lalaking to.

“Sorry, pero I’m in a hurry.” Sabi ko. “At isa pa, I should not be talking with strangers.”

Aalis na sana ako kaso hinarang niya ako ulit. Ang kulit!

“Well, I’m Gabriel Yan. Gab for short.” Sabi niya sabay lahad nung kamay niya. “By the way, you are?”

I gave him a sarcastic smile. “Victoria.”

“Victoria. Nice name.” he said. Hindi pa rin niya binababa yung kamay niya. Hindi ko rin naman inabot yung kamay ko. “And your family name?”

From my peripheral vision, napansin ko sina Gretchen na nasa isang table sa may other corner. I looked at the Gab dude, and once again I smiled at him. Nakangiti pa rin siya. I know this kind of guy. For sure he’s one of those guys who think that all girls are easy to get. But I’m gonna prove him wrong.
