Chapter 9

Katelyn.
(Y/n) ushered me into a room. I couldn't tell who it was in the dark but she made sure the door was locked. "How high is your window from the ground," (Y/n) asked? "I don't know. Several feet I'm guessing," I answer. "Okay." She went to the window. The amulet glowing softly. (Y/n) opened the window. The boots came closer to the door. How did they find us?! I mean we did go upstairs. Of course they will find us. "Katelyn come on!" I rushed to the window just as some came in. The door breaking. Flashlights blinded me. You know in those old movies where the spies come in to steal stuff. That's what this feels. "Jump." I jumped out the window. Magically not breaking my leg. There was a lot of commotion in the room before (Y/n) jumped out. "Where do we go," I asked? "Just follow me. We have to lose these suckers," (Y/n) says.

Katelyn and I split up. The guards follow me. Good. They can't hurt her if they're only after me. I'm cornered in a dead end. "Surrender now. This could go easy," Gene says. "Never," I spat. The guards aimed their guns and shot fire. My amulet put up a shield before it hit me. "We're being nice about it (Y/n). I don't get why you won't come back." "Do you not understand me? I am not going back. Ever." Without much effort, I turn in to a wolf. "Awe you're a pup," Gene taunts. I growled at him. My eyes blazing with white fire. Quickly I lunged onto him. Biting through the armor and onto his neck. Gene screamed and fell back. I jumped off and ran. Turning back to a human. That should buy me some extra time. I turn some corners. Rounding with Katelyn at some point. "Come on!" They were gaining on us rather quickly. I sigh. I push us in an alley and we hide behind some trash cans. "We can't run forever," I state.
Katelyn.
I roll my eyes. "Yeah, I know. What do we do," I asked? "My amulet will put up something in the mix of a shield and electric force field. I want you to take it and run back to a friend's house. Do not look back nor come back. Only I am allowed to track this amulet so don't worry." They were getting closer. (Y/n) seemed to be changing too. "Remember do not take my amulet off. If you lose it both our lives will be in jeopardy," (Y/n) says. "Okay." (Y/n) changed and in front of me was a shiny (f/c) wolf with grey eyes. Then it switched back to (Y/n). "Go Blue. I'll find you in away." "Ok." I ran off in another direction. (Y/n) staying back. There were shouts all around. I hid behind a tree to catch my breath. The amulet glowed blue. I remembered it glowed (f/c). I wondered why it glowed a different color now? No time to think about it. I run off down the street. What about Kawaii-Chan? Where is she going to sleep? I can always say the house got robbed. I'll go to a motel or something. There's no point in going to anyone's house. No, that means more trouble. I don't think everyone can carry me. I wonder how (Y/n) is going to find me. She did say the amulet could be traced but how. I check in a motel with the little money I had on me. It will get me through at least two nights here before I'll have to go back. Not to mention food and stuff.

There was no way I could take on all of them. Gene had brought an army. He knew I would come to get Katelyn. It's obvious. I been putting my life on the line for a while for this girl. And yet I don't know why. I just know I can't let her die. Not until I figure out this feeling. I might never find it again. Anyway... I was running. Transforming back and forth into a wolf or werewolf. And even though it was very aggravating, I didn't stop running. I ran like my life depended on it. Because basically the stupid shit did. If Irene could just send me some help. Just a little bit of help. She left me all these years by myself. "Irene this would be a good time to help. It wouldn't matter how. I just need some," I mumbled to myself. Eventually, I lost the bloody freaks. Breathing heavily I leaned against a tree. I wasn't going to stay in werewolf form for long. I needed to be in my wolf form anyway to track Katelyn. But it's too dangerous now. Find a good spot to rest (Y/n) for now. And then after that go get Blue. I found a small cave. It was well hidden which held great purpose. Laying back I close my eyes and dream.
Gene snarled at me. His hand struck my cheek. Leaving a fresh print. "Learn your manners you dumb dog!" Another slap left my head flying. "You can't do that to him! And I won't allow you to." Gene growled and grabbed me by my collar. He threw me across the room furious. Walking towards me. I tried to get up but I couldn't. "(Y/n)!!!!" There was a loud bang. I felt the world stop moving as I look up. There lied my little brother on the floor bleeding. "Max," I cried going to run towards him. Gene held me back. He made me watch as Max bleeds to death. I didn't cry. I struggled but didn't cry. "This is what happens when you don't listen (Y/n)."
