(Y/n).
Gene's men encircled me. Nothing new there. Everyone stood wide-eyed. I felt a tug on my stomach. I promised. I promised I get them out of here. And I got to keep that promise. I turn to look at Gene. "How about we play a game," I asked? Keeping myself calm. My fingers drummed at my side. Slowly so he didn't see. "What kind of game," Gene asked? "Sparring. I remembered it was one of your favorite things to do wasn't it," I asked? Gene just smirked. "Do you really think you can beat me (Y/n)? You never have been before and you were top of everyone," Gene says. I swallow hard. Nervous. I never was able to beat Gene. I was always one hand short. "Well, I might certainly die trying," I say. "Let's make this a bet then." He walked slowly towards me. "What kind of bet," I asked? "Well, I assume it was you who took all my orphans. So if you win I'll let them free. And I won't go after them," Gene says. "And if I lose," I asked? Gene smirks. "Then you and the orphans come back. You aren't allowed to leave. And... Katelyn has to die. I mean the no witness policy," Gene proposes. The air gets caught. Like the wind is holding its breath too. I stared at him. Silently. If I don't win then he gets all of us. And Katelyn dies. It's not something I look forward to seeing. Ever. "Fine Gene. You have a deal," I state. There were gasps. Now I really got to win. I can't come one hand short or anything. Or else I'll be letting everyone down. Gene simply nods. I don't expect his first punch. So I'm blown entirely off. I block his next and flip backward. Putting some distance. I get my first punch in. A punch to the jaw. Gene growls. We continue fighting. Kicks, punches, you name it. And this was not a fair fight. Gene used whatever he got his hands on. I just needed an advantage. Something to get higher up. I grunted as I felt his kick at my side. I'm going to fail. I'm really going to fail. Because I can't beat this douche bag. I'm going to watch Katelyn die and everyone goes back to that section. No. I'm not going to. I can't do that. I'm not able to. Suddenly I was knocked off my feet. My back hit the pavement and I hiss.
Katelyn.
Everyone was hoping (Y/n) would win. I mean she did just put everyone on the line with this little deal. Especially my life. We all gasped as she fell. Gene stood over her. "Wanna give up," he asked? (Y/n) stayed like that. We waited with bated breath. Waiting for her to get up. My heart hammered against my chest and my palms grew sweaty. And then (Y/n) opened her eyes. They were all black. She stood up. Her clothes changing. She didn't wear her basic hoodie and stuff. Now she was an (f/c) shirt, black jeans, and black boots. A ribbon was tied to her arm. Her tattoos showing. "No Gene. I had just begun," she says.
(Y/n).
The air felt cooler around me. Much cooler. "Remember he's your only target. Do not use it on anyone else." "I know." Gene came towards me. But I stopped his kick. I laid my own on him. Satisfied when I heard a grunt of pain. He backed up and growled. His fists up. A dagger in his knife. But I only smirked. A small ball of black came in my hand and shot at the dagger. It slowly disintegrated. Leaving nothing but some burnt dust. I sneer. "You know what? I think I just about had enough with you Gene," I spat. Now the fight leverage in my favor. My wounds slowly started to heal as Gene got even new ones. I heard my name but didn't care. I bent down to Gene's level and watch him wheeze. I shake my head. Slightly pouting. "I thought you would be a better target. You're a pathetic excuse of a human being Gene. You created monsters like me to hide behind. When we all know you're the real monster. I pity people like you," I say. Gene growls and gets up. I stand and got a blow to the stomach. I stagger and hit him with a ball of black dust. Which he dodges. Know what? I'm just sick of this. I throw another and this one hits him. Quickly I run and hit the back of his head. Knocking him out. He'll be fine when we wake up. Maybe have a horrible headache. But that's all. I check and then nod. "I win," I spat. I touched my amulet as victory cries where let out. The guards stood there dumbfounded. Then I was hugged and thanked. Like a million times. I just wanted to sleep. I wanted to curl up somewhere with Kate. Because I been missing her touch for a long time now.
Katelyn.
I pulled (Y/n) from the crowd after it died down some. She immediately lyes us down. Looking up. I snuggle into the girl. "I guess I should say thank you. But I feel like you had enough of that already," I mumble in her neck. "Yeah. Way too much," (Y/n) says. "You were incredible." (Y/n)'s hand stroked my hair. As her other one ghost over my waist. I finally felt like her fight was over. Like now we can finally be together in peace. Which I wanted for a while now. "No Kate. You're incredible. Thanks for not giving me up," (Y/n) says. "It's no big deal. I mean I almost died sometimes. But it was nothing I couldn't handle," I say. I pulled back to look at her. (Y/n) looks at me and smiles. "I love you, Kate." "I love you too, pup," I say. We ended the night with a kiss.

Another one😏
In all seriousness, this is probably the second to last chapter. Unless I can figure out what else to write. Well bye...
