Katelyn.
No wonder why (Y/n) wanted to leave. It's boring. After you get over the near-death experiences with every turn. And you learn where to step and what to say. Pretty soon you get bored. There's nothing to do. I try to conduct things that will make time go by faster. But nothing is working. I'm not going to lie. It's pure torture living here. Suddenly guards come in. Yelling for everyone to follow them. I get up wearily. Following behind the rest of the kids. Who I have learned names for all of them by now. I told you this place gets boring. Mason stayed asleep in Gwen's arm. "Put him down," a guard spat. "He's sleeping," I state. "So? Put him down. That's an order subject 3456." They don't even have names. Gwen moves slowly. Carefully waking up Mason. He glares and I hold his gaze. Daring, he tries anything. The amulet beeps as Gene comes in. I touch it trying to turn it off. It flashes from (y/f/c) to blue. A warning. There's some kind of threat. I wait for the guard to go. Then step towards Gwen just a little more. "Something is wrong. (Y/n)'s amulet is picking it up. Continue that down the line," I mumble. Gwen nods. I turn to Max and say the same thing. Soon everyone is mumbling. "Sections! If you please!" We fell silent. "Now we all know that Katelyn here is hiding away a very precious person to me," he says. I roll my eyes. "I just want (Y/n) to come back to her family. Wouldn't you want that," Gene asked? No one answered. "I thought you would. Anyway so since Katelyn isn't sharing anything then we're taking all the smaller kids. We're going to be putting you in intense exercises to make sure you're compatible." Cries of protest startup. I stare at him in shock. Gene looks amused. He catches my eye and smirks. "Unless Katelyn. You would be willing to give up (Y/n)'s location," he says. Dante stares at me. Along with everyone else. Them or (Y/n). I had to pick. Picking them would mean going against my girlfriend. But picking my girlfriend would put these little guys at risk. I sent an apologetic look to Dante before nodding. "There's this spot that she has. It's deep in the forest. A cave if you want. You go straight till you reach the edge and then take a sharp right. The cave should be in there. I can't promise she'll be there though. (Y/n) loathes staying in one place for too long," I lie. Dante stares at me. A small smirk on his face. One unnoticeable to anybody else. We both knew (Y/n) didn't live in a cave. She lived in an abandoned building. Where she could see the stars to throw away every single worry. She liked the openness. The quick escape. A cave would not be an ideal spot of (Y/n). Not at all. But I figured Gene would go for something more darkly hidden then the real thing. "Indeed she does. Thank you, Katelyn, for your participation. You younger ones will stay in your section. Dinner will be lavish tonight. Everyone brings an appetite," Gene says. Section by section we walked back to our dorms. Gene sent a squad of men to go search the area. If anything (Y/n) should get out of there. She should be able to hear them coming. So I'm not too worried about that. Just how am I going to get out of here? (Y/n) might not becoming for a long time. She might not even come after all. And if she does how is she going to hide about a thousand kids? How?! I had an hour before dinner to sort through my mind. But I just didn't feel like doing it. A guard came in and motion for me to come out. Gene stood in the hall with a phone. My phone. He handed it to me rather annoyed. I took it. Dad. "Sweet pea. Where are you? You have us all worried," he said. I glance at Gene and sighed. "Um (Y/n) and I are on a getaway. For a while. I promise we're safe," I lie. "Are you sure? Do you have enough food? Why didn't you tell anybody you were going away," dad asked? "Because I knew you would want to come. Or call me every hour. I just need some space okay dad," I say. I can almost picture him nodding his head up and down. "Okay. Well, you stay safe. Remember what I taught you okay," dad said. "Don't worry dad. I'm fine. I got (Y/n) here to protect me," I say. We say bye and I hang up. Giving the phone back to Gene. He takes it. "That was an elaborate lie. Tell me how did you think of that," Gene asked? I shrug. "I read in a book about vacations. It just slipped through my mouth. Nothing spectacular about it," I answer. "We would make a good team you and I. Don't you agree," Gene asked? "Yeah no. I don't support the idea of kidnapping kids and using them as test subjects. Just not how I do this things," I say. Gene just laughed at me. An amused look on his face. "One day you'll understand. My offer stands now. Join me. You were born for this part in the business world," he says turning away. "Well, this business world is not my forte. So I think I'll pass on the whole joining you thing." "Suit yourself. Men. Take her back to Section C. I'm finished with her," Gene says. One guy grabbed my arm and dragged me inside. Dinner for once looked delicious. But I learned not to eat it. They drugged the food. Later that night we're all woken up to loud booming noises.

Kinda rushed this one.
