Katelyn.
"How was your date," (Y/n) asked as I reached her? "Okay. The girl was really nice," I reply. "That's good. What's your lesson today Blue," (Y/n) asked? "Well, I haven't really thought of that yet." I have been thinking about my outfit for my date tonight. In my head I chastised myself. After all, I made (Y/n) do this. I should at least have something to teach. "People skills. That's what we're learning," I pipe up after a moment of silence. (Y/n) looks up. Her expression shows her disbelief but I don't care. "Instead of my help today. I want you to go make a friend by the next time it's my turn. That will enhance your people skills," I say. "You aren't just dissing me so you can hang out with your new-found girlfriend," (Y/n) asked? I flushed red. "Of course not! Now go! That's the lesson today!" "But why can't I just stay here and practice with you?" "Because we're already friends. And plus I shouldn't have to explain stuff to you!" (Y/n) stood up rolling her eyes. "Fine, your majesty. I'll go. But do not expect me to make a friend," she says. "As long as you learn something then I don't care," I say crossing my arms. I wave goodbye and then go. Remedy comes to pick me up at eight. "Where are we going," I asked? "Nowhere special. Just a trip to a lake," Remedy says. I feel myself grow on edge. All those near-death experiences have gotten me more suspicious about stuff. "How far is the lake?" "It's in the park. Katelyn is something wrong," Remedy asked? I shake my head and give her a smile. The ride wasn't long. I learned we were having a picnic there. Nothing fancy. In the car, I was reminded of last night. I felt a pang of guilt. It's not like (Y/n) can take me out like this. It's nice to find someone that could. And even if I had feelings for (Y/n), which I'm sure I don't, it could never be anything. Because we'll be worried about staying alive. And Gene. So I enjoy my date with Remedy. I enjoy the fact that she is here with me. And she is taking me out. I refuse to take a ride back though. I could use the time to clear my head. And plus Remedy has done too much already. "Come on Blue." I look at her tense. That was (Y/n)'s nickname. I have never been called Blue before and I didn't want to be called it by anyone else. I felt like that was our special little thing. "Please don't ever call me that," I say. "I'm sorry. I'll see you around." I nod. But I wasn't too sure about that. I wasn't too sure about anything at all. I started walking down the streets. They felt barren now. Like an enemy to me. I couldn't exactly figure out why.  But the darkness settles in them with nerve-wracking feeling. I nearly jumped out of my skin when I heard footsteps beside me. I look over to see (Y/n). "Where did you come from," I asked?! "Magic," (Y/n) said sarcastically. Her hood was down right now. And her ears were out. My heart took a turn down a rollercoaster. Those (f/c) ears sparkled in the moonlight. "Great." "How was the date?" "What date? Were you following me," I asked?! "No. I saw through your little lesson. And plus you're not usually dressed up." "Well what if I just wanted to look nice," I asked? "You ask a lot of questions Blue." I smile at the nickname. It sounded right coming from her. Every nickname felt right. (Y/n) pushed us back as a bullet flew through the air.
(Y/n).
Not again. "Quick Blue!" We ran off. But just our luck we get cornered. Quickly I pull off my hoodie and throw it on Katelyn. Pulling the hood up. They can't tell who it is with their helmets. "Just go along with it. And I'll get you out of here," I say. Katelyn nods. I snarl at the dudes. Gene comes. "Oh (Y/n). You made a new friend," Gene says. "Like you can make friends." "Awe you're feeling defensive. I swear you act like a pup. Boys bag them. And this time don't fail me." He walks off and leaves us with fifteen guys. I dodge their bullets and was able to knock them all unconscious. "Come on." Katelyn and I run to her house. "Thanks again." "It was nothing. We got lucky this time." "Yeah, this time." It went silent. "You know it kinda seems unreal." "Katelyn look. This isn't how anyone wants to live. Even Irene knows I don't." "(Y/n) riddles don't get you anywhere. Just say it." "I'm sorry but we can't be friends or even mere acquaintances. Do you know how much danger you are in?" "Yes, I know. And I don't see the point. You don't just decide when to walk in and out of my life." "Katelyn this is for your own good." "Everything is for my own good! Everything single thing. Why are you so controlling?! Why won't you just let me in?!" I swallow hard. "I'm sorry Blue. But we won't ever see each other again." I walked off. Not looking back at the sad girl. My heart broke a little. But I didn't go back. I wasn't going back.
Katelyn.
I went inside and called Remedy. Tears left my eyes. Remedy came over and I cried in her arms. She didn't even ask to talk about it. She just held me tightly while I cried. I'm glad. I don't think I'll be able to tell anyone about this. Let alone recap it to her. God that werewolf. I knew they were bad from the start. Why did I get close to one? The worst thing is I'm still wearing her hoodie.
