(Y/n).
Change of plans. Dante said we couldn't wait any longer. So basically Kacy and I rushed over to the base. I snuck us into the gas rooms. "Make a quick run once you hear the explosion. Gene is going to have to evacuate. Get kids to the forest," I tell Kacy. I tightened my grip on the homemade bomb. Which wasn't that hard to make since Kacy is a genius at science. "Got it." I place the bomb down and set it up. We had literally five seconds to get out of there. I grabbed Kacy's arm. "Let's go you, idiot," I hiss running down the aisle. The section part was crazy. The alarms were blaring. Everyone was making a run for the exit. People were tripping. I helped a little boy up and ushered him to the exit. "There's no use trying to find Katelyn in here. We have to go outside with them," I say. "No stick to the plan. We need to find Katelyn first and tell her what we're doing. That's part of the plan," Kacy says. Another explosion. Shaking the ground this time. I steadied myself and helped another child. "Look these kids went through the same thing with us. Everyone needs to get out. Let's clear everyone out first. And then we'll talk. Plans are made to be changed," I spat. Kacy sighs. We split up. Kacy does section A and B. I'm on the other two. Section D is already clear so I go to section C. The door is shut tight. There's yelling all over it. "Stand back," I yelled! I waited a few seconds before I let out a ball of black dust. The door broke. Clambering against the wall. Everyone stared at me while I shook off the adrenaline. "What is Irene's name are you waiting for?! Go," I cried!! They ran past me. I counted every single person. Mason was struggling. I picked him up and we ran out. Everyone was in a frenzy. Gene wasn't here. That was good. Okay. Okay. I felt eyes on me as I pull down my black mask and hood. Gasps heard but I didn't care. "Kacy get them to the forest! Now," I yell! "(Y/n)!" My head whipped around and I saw Kate. I rush to her. Relieved. "Thank Irene you're okay! You don't know how bad I been worried," I state quickly. "I'm glad you're alright. Why did you do that?! You could've died," Kate says. I smile at her. "Near-death experiences excite me," I say. Katelyn rolled her eyes. But a smile was on her face. I pulled the hood to my hoodie up. Blocking out her blue hair. "It's not certain Gene is going to come but I bet he will. We got to clear out now," I say. Katelyn nods and grabs my hand. But I quickly release. "Blend into the crowd. I got to get everyone who was left behind in the woods," I say. "No. Last time we were separated I got stuck here," Kate says. Her worry eased my nerves. I kiss her forehead before running away. I ushered kids down the way. To the way I left. The trudge was very slow. I look behind me. Trying to see anything. Shoot. I didn't actually get my amulet. Shoot. Well, Kate needs it more than me. I wondered if she figured out how to use it. Hopefully, she did. It doesn't come with a manual.
Katelyn.
We cross a bridge into a vast land. Kacy stops us. I look back to see the rest coming through. (Y/n) last. I walked to her. "Where do we go from now? Is there somewhere to go," I asked? "Yeah. But we're staying here for the night. If Gene isn't on our trail then we should be able to spend the night here," she says. I nod. Pulling the hood off my head. (Y/n) beckons me to follow her as she walks no one particular spot. I sit besides the girl. "Why this spot," I asked? "Lay down and look up." I do as she says. And to my surprise, you can actually see the stars. "Perfect place for stargazing," (Y/n) says softly. "Of course. How did I not know," I joke? Laying my head on her shoulder. My fingers grasp her amulet. "You need this. The others in Section C say you have a form you turn to without your amulet," I say. (Y/n) protests but I put it on her. I didn't need it anymore. Living in that place has done enough. I lay back down. (Y/n)'s arm wrapped around me. Pulling me into her. We didn't need to talk to know anything. It just simply starred gazing. Seeing the prettiest stars in there. I didn't want to ruin the moment either. Slowly I felt my eyes closed. I nuzzled my head into (Y/n)'s neck. Sighing deeply. And then I was asleep. For once it was the best sleep ever.
(Y/n).
I woke up to a bad dream. Irene this is getting old. Suddenly I heard the bushes rustle. Too loud for an animal. I got up. Waking Katelyn up. "Get to the bushes and hide. Pull the hood up over your hair," I say. Then I go to tell everyone it. Kacy and I rush to clear the area. Quickly. The noise got louder. Making us practically sprint to get everyone. I told everyone to shut up and get into the bushes. "What's going on," Gwen asked? "I'll tell later. Just get in the bushes for Irene's sake. And don't move a muscle. Bushes are very loud in dead nights," I order. Gwen nods and goes. I get Mason in the bush just as Gene and his men come into the clearing. "(Y/n)? What a surprise," he states. I growled and turn around. "The only one who a surprise is you, Gene," I spat.
