Chapter 26

(Y/n).
I grip the sink handle as I stare at myself in the mirror. I was losing control. And quickly. It's not like this never happened. But I always had my amulet to calm me down. Now I don't know what to do. Without my amulet, I can't control myself. I might just be a danger to Dante and Kacy. I growled and push away from the sink. I walk out of the room before I can doubt myself further. Dante was just leaving. He was going to go in the base and see where Katelyn is at. And take a full scale of injuries on it. I told him not to touch my amulet. Katelyn needs it more then me being in that place. It's not easy living there and the amulet will keep her health in check. Well for the time being. Dante turns to me and crosses his arms. "You do know if we go through with this plan you might die right," he asked? "I'm willing to take that chance," I say. Dante sighs. He places a hand on my shoulder. "(Y/n) don't do anything stupid. Stick strictly to the plan. And I mean it," he says. I cross my arms and nod. "Will do boss. Tell everyone I said hi. Even though it's been a while," I say. "Will do." Kacy and I watch him leave. The car pulling off. Once he's gone I start packing a bag of food and some of my other personal stuff. "Where do you think you're going," Kacy asked? "Dante is going to the base. So Gene will know something is up. He'll send people to come to look. We aren't safe here. We have to move," I say like it was obvious. "You know you and Gene might have a lot in common. You both try to get into each other's heads. Twisting and turning plots stupidly," Kacy says. I throw him a bag. "Do not compare me to that twerp. Ever again. Or you're going to be missing an eye," I say. I pull up my hood and we walk out. I keep my head down. Avoiding talking to people and being recognized. We go to the woods. Leverage is given to us in here. I scale a tree quickly. Settling myself in. Kacy follows suit in the tree across from me. "So what? We're going to sleep in the trees," he asked? "You could sleep on the ground. But you want to be higher up if anybody comes," I say. Kacy shakes his head. "You're something else (Y/n/n)." I scrunched up my nose in disgust. "I told you to never call me that." "I don't follow orders from you. You're not holding a gun to my head," Kacy says. "We don't do guns idiot," I spat. Kacy laughs. I roll my eyes and glare at him. Taking out a book.
Katelyn.
I wake up in pain. Great. Just great. I sit up. Careful not to use my broken arm. "Katelyn are you alright," Gwen asked? "I'll be fine. Nothing I can't handle," I say. They nod and give me a glass of water. I always had (Y/n) to protect me. Never was I really in danger because she was always there. Now I'm on my own. Guards come in. Everyone huddles around me. Glaring. But they take me anyway. And I'm too weak to put up a good enough fight. I'm sitting down in a chair and strapped in again. I can't even muster up the strength to glare a Gene. But to my surprise, Dante comes in. My eyes widen. "Dante? What are you doing here," I asked? "Geez Katelyn. What happened to your arm," Dante asked? Ignoring my question. "Your brother happened," I spat. He sighed. Bending down low. "Sit here for an hour. I'll stop by your section in a little bit. And whatever you do don't make Gene even more pissed. He woke up angry and is not a pretty sight," Dante advised. I nod. The next hour consists of me telling little to pointless details on what I know. Things I know are not going to be any help with finding (Y/n). I go back without any cuts. The kids smile at me. "You're back! And unharmed," they say. "Well, it was easy. I told them what they wanted to hear." Dante comes in then. "Is (Y/n) alright? Is she okay," I asked quickly? "She's fine. A little bruised up if I do say so myself. We have a plan. But you're going to have to wait a little longer Katelyn," Dante says. I nod. Pulling off the amulet. "Here. Give this to her," I state. Dante shakes his head. "(Y/n) said not to take it from you. Said it was for you to keep until she gets here," he says. "She's coming to get us all outright," Gwen asked? "Hopefully. Look I can't stay long. So make the most out of it that you can. (Y/n) might need an army when she comes through those walls. So make sure you are ready." We all nod and watch him leave. Everyone starts conversing about what (Y/n) might do. And what the plan might be. "I bet (Y/n) is going to turn to that form of hers. She usually does without thinking. It's so cool. She's like another Irene," Mason says. "What form," I asked? Confused. (Y/n) had another form? I thought she was just a werewolf. "Well (Y/n) calls it her monster form. Because it causes a lot of destruction. But it's really cool to watch. When she's like that no one is safe. Her enemy is good as dead. She doesn't take any damage and has magic. She can't really control it without her amulet though," one kid says. I nod and fall silent. That night. (Y/n) called herself a monster. Was she talking about that? About her other form? She must have. That would explain a lot. I take the amulet in my hands. Oh, Irene.
