Dwight started biting his fingernails as he stood still and held his breath as the shadowy figure walked past it. He wanted to let out a breath of relief but he learned from past mistakes that doing that can only lead to them circling around and checking.
After a few moments, he let out the breath he was keeping and walked out of the locker. Within moments he ran into someone, causing Dwight to be knocked back onto his ass. "Woah! Geez, calm down." A calm, gentle voice told him.
The man was treating his wounds, making Dwight look up at him like he was going to grow a third eye. "You alright Bud? Seems you hit your head a bit harder than expected." The soft, but deep voice told him, gently looking his head over.
"I-I'm fine," Dwight told him, holding onto Jake's arm. "Come on, let's work together." Jake flashed him with a reassuring smile. They worked on the generator and got so busy that Dwight didn't really bite at his fingers.
A chainsaw screeched through the air, causing Dwight to jump back from the generator. "Shh." Jake calmed him down before grabbing his hand and hiding away in a behind a tree.
Dwight felt so exposed without the safety of the locker. Feeling his arms tingle, every ache in his body telling him to run. Though that was stopped when Jake reached out to him to settle him down and not get caught.
Dwight couldn't help but a soft, quiet cry that left his mouth. That was all that was needed for the killers head slowly turn. Dwight held his breath until his lungs screamed for air as the killer limped over to them.
Dwight forced his eyes shut, telling himself if he didn't see it, it wasn't going to happen. "Hey!" Jake yelled from a few feet away. How'd he get over there so fast? The killer's attention was torn away from Dwight onto the fluffy haired man. "Try to get me freak!" Jake yelled, knowing that would get the killer away from Dwight and onto him.
He wanted to move, to help Jake. Though what could he possibly do? Dwight wanted to run, to distract it from hurting the gentle survivor but his legs were being shackled to the earth. The more he would move, the more it would paralyze him with fear.
Suddenly, the last generator roared to life causing the doors to be active. This caused him to jump and snap him from his trance-like state. He was about to open the door when he heard a painful shriek. Dwight's blood ran cold as he stood between the door to the man who he cared for.
After a few seconds of hesitation, he ran towards the scream. Dwight was hoping Jake didn't fall into the hands of the killer before he could save him. Meg was close by. "Meg!" Dwight yelled with such confidence, it kind of scared her.
"Yea?" She asked, walking over to him. "I need you to distract the killer okay?" Dwight told her, grabbing her shoulder. "No matter what!" Dwight begged her. She nodded before running out, taunting him. This made the killer growl and ran after her, giving Dwight the perfect opportunity to get Jake off the hook.
"Hey, y-you came back." Jake chuckled, blood rain from the corner if his mouth. "Of course I did!" Dwight told him, putting Jake's arm around his neck and held Jake up with a firm hand at his side. Dwight hurried to the exit gate and didn't stop until they made it out.
Jake coughed and Dwight let him fall down on the ground. He breathed as Dwight let him rest at the campfire. Claudette jumped to her feet to look at Jake with Dwight's help.
"God, the injuries are getting way too serious. This should've killed you." Claudette breathed as she worked her best to keep the wounds from being infected and pulled out of her supplies. "What do you mean?!" Dwight asked, looking at her. "What I mean is the killer's attacks and other things are becoming a bit more permanent. Someone could die soon." Claudette warned.
"It's NOT going to be Jake! Help him!" Dwight beg. "Fine just go away." She snapped, pulling out a needle and thread. "This is going to be a huge bitch," Claudette warned. "Just grit your teeth."
Jake did that but was the needle when through his skin for the thread to be used. Jake let out a whimper as Claudette was getting done with the stitching. Dwight walked over to him and placed Jake's head in his lap.
He looked up after the stitching was finished and was being wrapped around with strong bandages. "Hey, handsome," Jake said, smiling. Dwight could feel the burning in his cheeks. "Hey." Dwight chuckled, letting his fingers gently glide over his cheek.
"Why'd you come back?" Jake asked him as he got a bit more comfortable in the nervous boy's lap. "I just had too." He was blushing now as he held onto the kind-hearted person. Dwight was messing with his hair since Jake was already there halfway.
Dwight pulled his hair into a tight bun causing Jake to laugh. "I like it." Dwight giggled, before laying down with Jake. He looked up at the sky but to Dwight, it seemed fake. No stars out in the darkness but there was a moon. It all seemed face and knowing he spent years in this realm. He was itching to go stargazing but he didn't want to do it alone.
He looked over at Jake, who looked peaceful as he rested. Dwight went to hold his hand, blushing so bright as he laid there. He didn't have to be alone anymore, not as long as Jake was here.
