Kate's heart beated so hard in her chest she could hear it echoing in her ears. She crouched behind a rock with her hand to her mouth. She noticed the killer was close to the point where she felt like her heart would break out of her chest.
She held her breath as she saw Leatherface kick the generator that she was working on previously. He took one more look around before walking away. Kate let out a breath, she was new to all of this but she wasn't the only one. She had wince when she heard Hope's scream when she got hit with Leatherface's mallet. Though, she had managed to escape by climbing a tree the fastest she could as she look down at the killer, hoping he didn't look up.
Kate couldn't help but giggle at how funny it sounded and Leatherface was extremely pissed for the rest of the match, even tunneling some of the surveys but to no avail. The matches have been a lot easier for the survivors where it's almost guaranteed everyone to escape or if they weren't lucky then they'd lose one for all three to escape.
Though this one was different. The killers have been struggling to get even one survivor sacrificed. Could this be the doing of Hope? "Hey." A guy that she learned to be named Jake had crept up to her. "Ah!" She yelled, jumping away from the generator. He laughed and held his hand out. "Sorry Kate." He chuckled, helping her up. "You seemed to be really deep in thought. It isn't a smart idea to be for the fact the killers are putting themselves through hell to get at least one of us." Jake pointed out as he helped Kate on the generator.
"Why aren't you using your toolbox on the generator?" Kate asked, making Jake smirk. "I'm planning to make sure everyone escapes." Kate didn't understand what he meant but she shrugged it off as the generator roared to life. Kate began to hear the heartbeat in her ears, making her freeze in fear. She was sure she was going to be found as her feet felt like it was in quicksand, the more she was trying to move, the more stuck she became.
That was when Jake grabbed her wrist and ran with her, snapping her out of the fearful state. He hurried her to the corner and held his hand over her mouth. The killer let out a frustrated howl and kicked the wall next to the generator. This made Kate jump, letting out a silent squeal. Jake tried his best to silence it but it was too loud, making the killer look over. "Listen," Jake said hastily, grabbing her hands, "That was the last generator and the exit is on the right. I'm going to run alright? Just trust me." Jake told her, kissing her cheek before running.
"Jake! Wait-!" Kate let out a scream as she felt the metal teeth of the chainsaw ripping through her flesh. She hit the ground hard with a thud as her tears rolled down her face. Leatherface let out a noise of triumph as he picked her up. She began squirming as he was nearing a hook. No! She closed her eyes, bracing herself to be impaled and camped.
Clank! Her eyes shot opened when she saw Jake smirking as he dropped the hook, making it completely useless. Leatherface let out a frustrated howl as he dropped Kate. Jake protecting her as they ran, making him grab her hand and ran to the exit. "Y-You saved me!" Kate breathed, her eyes red and puffy from the tears. She thought she was a goner, where she would fail her friends with her death.
Jake smiled as his soft, gentle hand stroked her cheek gently. "Of course, you're one that I would never let anyone harm." Jake smiled as they ran out of the exit, hand in hand.
