Laurie stayed focused on the generator, not wanting it to explode. Though, she knew it was unsafe because her brother could surprise her by forcefully ripping her off the generator. The last time it happened her fingers ended up being burnt and cut up. It didn't hurt at the time during the match but it definitely did it.
It really made the survivors worry and think about how they were doing outside one of the trials. I'd they could feel pain outside matches, what happens if they died at the campfire? Would they die? Would someone find them?
Laurie didn't even notice the masked figure watching her from a distance as she was nearly done with the generator. With one more gear shift, it was brought back to life. She smiled to herself as she looked at her handy work and was happy, relieved even, to get a generator done.
Though, that split moment of satisfaction instantly turns into pure terror. She heard breathing right behind her along with a Halloween music that was so loud it echoed through the entire place. She didn't need to turn around before she took off, the weapon cut through the air and merely missed her by an inch. Her breath got caught in her throat, causing her eyes to water as she ran as fast as she could, coughing.
That's when she heard it, the music but heard rapid footsteps behind here. She was guilty of looking behind her to see his knife glisten in the moonlight. She let out a terrified scream as she threw a pallet down, causing him to stumble back.
She didn't wait for anything and kept running, hoping to waste his tier three and if she did get hit, it wouldn't mean death. Her heart pounded hard in her chest, causing her ribs to hurt. She threw her body through the window, praying she couldn't get hit. A loud thwack sounded behind her, gratefully it was the ledge he hit expect her.
The music died down and queued the end of his killing rampage. His knife was brought down, along with his speed. Laurie ran away and did her best to hit a rock. When she thought she was away she began to catch her breath and backed up to make sure she was unseen when she backed into a firm chest. Before she could let out any scream, a hand covered her mouth, quieting her down. "Shush! He'll hear you." A comforting voice told her, calming her down.
"I'm going to help you with this, just don't scream." The stranger ordered with a quiet tone. They lowered their hand from her mouth and trusted them. After they were done she felt a lot better. She turned around and noticed who it was. "Quentin??" She asked, shocked. "Oh, it's you. It must be weird, huh?" Quentin asked. "What do you mean?" Laurie asked. "I mean, facing your brother as a killer? It must be weird seeing that your brother is ready to kill you and most of your friends at any moment." Quentin told her in a low tone, they make their way to a half generator.
"I mean yeah, sometimes. If it was Nea or David I wouldn't have given a shit about them. They're such cocky shits and Nea is just naturally a cunt. You see how she can bully a killer?" Laurie grumbled, fiddling with the wires. "David isn't all that bad, he's a tough love kind of person. I mean, he wouldn't come back if he didn't feel guilty. Plus, if he left with no mither he won't leave you on the hook." Quentin pointed out.
"Whatever you say, dork." Laurie rolled her eyes but smiled to herself. They finished the generator and the doors lit up with life. "Hurry!" Quentin yelled, running as Laurie ran with him. Claudette was there with the door nearly opened when Laurie's sharp eye spotted something. A shape from a shadow, just watching, staring. "Wait!" Laurie told Quentin, grabbing his wrist and pulling him behind a rock. They watched as Michael reached back to tier three and when to run at Claudette, who finally got the door open but didn't get to leave. They watched with horror as Michael grabbed her neck, lifted her up, and shoved his knife into her neck.
"No-!" Laurie started to scream but was muffled by Quentin. Though it was too late, Michael knew they were there. Laurie's heat beat as Michael closed in on them. Laurie made a dash, Quentin in front of her. Through he looked back, seeing him close to her. He ran behind her and blocked him from getting her, letting him meeting the same fate as Claudette. "Quentin? Quentin!!" Laurie screamed as she was sucked out from the game.
She let out a cry that ended up damaging her voice than what she thought. With a new spark of hope she ran, ran all the way to the campfire. She saw in faintly in the distance but her hope started to die. "Quentin? Quentin!?" Laurie yelled, looking around as tears blurred her vision. "The hell you yelling at?" David asked. "Quentin, I-" Laurie was too shaking up to explain.
David grabbed her by her shoulders. "Where the fuck is he?!" David howled, livid. "I-I don't know." Laurie burst into tears and collapsed, causing David to catch her.

Quentin woke up holding his head that throbbed with pain. His heart sunk when he released it and jumped to his feet, his only caused him to feel dizzy. Why was he feeling pain?? Shouldn't he be right? Right? Tears welled up in his eyes as he ran towards on direction. He kept running and running, pushing forwards as he passed trees and stumbles. The grass moved from below his feet as they started to drag. His side started to burn and finally, his legs gave away out under him.
He began to cough and heave as he tried catching his breath. Once he did, he starts to cry and cry until he felt tired. He didn't run into a wall nor the campfire. His body ached from the lack of food, sleep, and water. Though the part that hurt the most was his heart as he knew he left the only person he cared for behind.
