I waited in my bed. Ronnie tried calling me 13 times and texted me 28 before she finally gave up. I still couldn’t believe she made out with my brother.

“Hayden,” I heard Peter whisper. I looked at my phone, it was 1:06. I got up and went on the balcony, he was standing, holding onto the outside of his window and in a jumping position.

“Oh my god Peter! What the fuck are you doing?” I asked, but he let go and jumped, I was about to scream when he landed right in front of me on the balcony. “That wasn’t fucking funny.” I snapped. He ran his finger on my cheek the snapped his hand back.

“Sorry, had to get over.” He smirked and I pushed him. “Put on something cute.” He said, looking over me. I felt warm everywhere his eyes laid.

            “Why? Where are we going?”

“Don’t trust me?” He asked, staring at me. I was about to shake my head, but I really did trust him, despite everything that’s happened.

“I do.” He gave me a “well then?” face. I nodded and went in. “What should I wear?”

“Shorts and a shirt, and keep your hair down.” He said. I nodded and he stared. I motioned for him to turn and rolled his eyes before doing so. I went quietly in my drawers and pulled on my favourite black shorts and a pink half shirt with black flats. I didn’t bother taking my makeup off earlier, so I didn’t have to worry about putting some on. I tapped on his shoulder and he turned around, staring at me, but mostly my bare stomach. Even in the dark I could see his eyes light up, the way Jacob had when I took my shirt off to go swimming.

“Is it okay?” He looked in my eyes now and nodded.

“So how do you feel about sneaking out?” He asked. I smiled and he returned it, grabbing my hand. “Let’s go.”

We walked down the street.

“Where are we going?” I asked him once we stopped. He pointed to a black Jeep parked on the side of the street. “Is this yours?” He nodded and smiled proudly.

“Hop in.” I did as I was told and we started driving.

“Why did you park down there?” I asked. He looked at me and eyes my legs.

“So we didn’t wake up your brother.” He answered honestly looking back at the road. We drove for about 10 minutes before we hit the busy city that I’ve only been to a few times since I moved here. He drove down backstreet and turned his headlights off, parking in an alley full of cars and motorcycle.

“Where are we Peter?” I whispered when I got to his side, holding onto the bottom of his shirt. He turned me to look right at him.

“Do you think I would let anything happen to you?” He asked, grabbing my face the way I’ve been waiting him too. His hands were warm on my face and I wanted to melt into them. I shook my head. “Okay, now come on.” He opened a door and I was instantly smiling. There were stairs and I could hear music and see fog. We walked down and went through another door. There must’ve been a couple hundred people here, the music was loud, and the room was filled with fog and strobe lights.

“This is amazing,” I said in his ear. He nodded and pulled me over to a counter, holding up two fingers. The bartender gave him two beers and he passed me one. He leaned down after we both finished our drinks until he was right in my ear.
