Peters POV

It’s now 7:12 and I can’t find Hayden. I’m so glad I’m done with Kenzie. Turns out she was cheating on me with Jacob, they have been since Hayden came to our school. Disgusting. I’m pissed, and neither of should talk to me tonight. I was standing in front of the entrance waiting. I could hear Sam’s obnoxious laugh and turned. My eyes found Hayden immediately. She was wearing a black tank top and white shorts, with a brown and black striped cardigan over it. Her brown cowboy boots matched the brown on her sweater and her hair was curled to perfection. Thank god I was done with Kenzie. She saw me and smiled, when she saw me ogling her she blushed. I went over and hugged her tight. Ronnie was in the cutest yellow summer dress and black converse, shocker. I hugged her and then did the bro hug with Sam.

“You guys ready?” We went in and rode a few of the rides, they were stupid and overpriced but everyone was happy.

“Peter! Can we do the water gun thing?!” Hayden asked, grabbing my upper arm and jumping up and down, her hands didn’t even touch around my biceps and I felt good.

“Yes baby,” I leaned down and kissed her cheek. She squealed and all 4 of us went over to play. I purposely missed a bunch of times and I could see Sam was too. Hayden won and the guy gave her a puppy stuffed animal. After he saw Ronnie pouting he gave her one too. I saw Sam slip the guy some money and I laughed. The girls were walking ahead of me and Sam, whispering constantly and holding their dogs.

“You end it with Kenzie?” Sam asked. I looked over at him.

“Yeah, I need her.” He knew exactly what I was talking about.

“Good for you man.” I thanked him and we kept walking. The girls finally turned around and Ronnie hugged Sam’s waist.

“Baby, can you buy me some cotton candy?” He leaned down and kissed her nose.

“Of course.” He pulled her away and I stood with Hayden.

“Would you like anything butterfly?” She smiled and shook her head, looking up at the stars that were now forming in the sky. I was about to take her hand when two people came in view. “Great.” Jacob and Kenzie walked up to Hayden. Jacob started to hug her but I stepped in front of her.

            “Peter,” Jacob said.

“Don’t touch her.” I snapped. Kenzie pulled him back and I turned towards Hayden. “Let’s go.”

“But what about Ronnie and Sam?” She asked, but I pulled her away. I pulled her towards the water, the Ferris wheel right behind us. “Peter?”

“Yeah?” I asked, running my hands through my hair.

“You’re wearing plaid.” I looked up at her. I remember when she was in my bed and she told me she thought I looked hot in plaid. I was wearing the same black shorts as earlier and a red and black plaid shirt, I rolled it so it was to my  elbows. “Why are you so mad at Jacob?” She asked, changing the conversation completely. I ran my hands through my hands. There was a picnic table behind her and she jumped up on the edge.

“Let’s not talk about this.” I said, meaning I don’t want to admit you were right and I was wrong. I could practically hear her gloat about it.

“No, we should talk about this Peter.” She snapped at me. Son of a bitch.

“Hayden. I said no.” She jumped off the table and started to walk away.
