Hayden’s POV- 3 Years Later

“Hayden, can you please get Johnny?” I groaned and walked down the hall, trying to find my nephew. He was a little over 2 years old and the cutest baby ever. I found him but he was fine so I left him alone.

“Babe? Can you come help us?” I groaned again and Peter laughed. They were building a playground in the backyard.

After my dad passed away, my brother and Drew bought the house and lived here with John, they named him after my dad. Peter and I moved in together last year. We would’ve still been living here if Paul was on the loose, but he was announced dead last year of drug overdose and his little groupies got up and left. We were finally safe. We lived 10 minutes from my brother and sister in law and both went to the University. I was becoming a nurse and Peter was going to be a sports announcer. I walked over and held a piece of wood for them. Drew hadn’t come home yet and this was supposed to be a big surprise.

John walked over, curious and lonely and ran on the grass only. They made the yard bigger and fenced it off from the beach so that Johnny couldn’t run out. Coco ran out too, which was their golden retriever. He always watched over John wherever he went and it was cute.

Peter’s mom and step dad were gone, they moved a couple hours away and only came around on holidays. Peter didn’t mind.

Ronnie and Sam were married, since last June and they’re still gross in their honeymoon stage. They’ve been talking about babies lately and I think they’ll have one soon enough. Us four always hang out, go out to hockey games and play laser tag because we can.

My mom comes around every now and then. After my dad died, we needed a parent and it took a while, but we became okay with her. Her new husband Dale is a great guy, and they babysit sometimes. Twice a month Peter and I go to my dad and his dads grave and change the flowers. Sometimes we cry, but the other will just hold them and then we’re okay. We were all okay.

“Okay Hay, you’re not even holding it,” Jason snapped.

“Yes I am Jason!” Showing him I was holding it.

“Stop fighting.” Peter said while he screwed two pieces together.

            “Tell him.” I mumbled.

            “Hay stop-”

“What’s going on?” A different voice asked. We all looked to Drew who was holding her keys in one hand and a few grocery bags in the other.

“Honey, you weren’t supposed to be home until..” Jason looked down at his watch, “10 minutes ago.” He mumbled which resulted in me laughing and him shooting me a death glare.

“Sorry I was late. Now what’s going on?” She asked smiling beautifully.

“We’re building a playground for John.” She smiled again and walked over, kissing his cheek.

“That’s beautiful, can I help?” He nodded and it was a lot faster with another person. Just as we finished more voices came in.

            “Hello we’re here!”

“How about you leave now then.” I joked to Ronnie and Sam. Me and Ronnie liked to call ourselves sisters, even though we weren’t. She walked over to her nephew and picked him up.

“Stop being mean.” Ronnie pouted. Sam came over and kissed and hugged me. Before moving down the line of people. I kissed Ronnie and she then kissed Peter and Jason before kissing her real sister.
