(This is the second last chapter! There's only an epilogue left and then it's over and i'll start posting my new story! Thank you all so much for reading! Also I know this chapter is really short and I'm sorry about that!)
Hayden’s POV
When I walked through the hospital I almost broke down. Had it not been for Peter holding my hand I would’ve.
“Stay here.” He said, walking up to the counter. I linked my fingers together and waited a few steps back. He came back and took my hands apart to hold one. We walked through a few halls when there was running behind us. We turned and I stepped behind Peter.
“Hayden wait.” Logan huffed.
“What could you possibly want from me?” I hissed.
“I’m sorry Hay.” I stared at him, his eyes weren’t angry like earlier, they were soft and loving and nurturing. “I know how I’ve been, but I’m afraid, I was afraid. I knew I should’ve been watching over you and dad, but it was so hard on me.”
“You don’t think it was hard on me?” I snapped at him. He had some nerve.
“I know it was. That’s not what I’m saying. I’m saying that it was just hard. I didn’t want all that responsibility. I know I should’ve been around. But Drew made me forget. I can’t lose you too.” He whispered. I was crying already and he was getting close too. “Please don’t be mad at me Hay.” I walked forward and hugged him, burying my face in his chest. He hugged me tight and I was just glad to have my big brother back. After a while all 3 of us walked into my dad’s room. He was awake and lit up seeing us.
“My kids!” He said and we all laughed. I sat on his bed and Peter sat on one side, holding my hand and Jason sat on the other side. We all talked for a while about nothing and everything and for a split second, I had wished my mom was here.
“I need to tell you guys something.” Jason said. We all turned and looked at him and he was blushing. “Drew and I, we’re having a baby.” It was quiet for a second before I jumped on him.
“Jason! Oh my god! This is amazing! I’m going to be an aunt!” I screamed hugging him.
“I’m so happy for you man!” Peter said. But my dad, he didn’t say anything. He just lied there smiling at us.
“Dad, say something.” Jason said, and that’s when he started to cry.
“I just won’t be able to see my grandchild.” He sobbed, coughing every now and then. “It’s going to happen kids, any day now. I can’t hold on much longer.” We were all crying now. “Just please, tell my grandchild about me.” He cried.
“I will dad. I also asked her to marry me.” Jason said which caused me to hug him tighter. I was sitting on him, so I didn’t let him go. Jason held me with one arm and held our dads hand with the other. Peter held my dad’s other hand. Now we all just sat in silence and waited for the worst.
---
3 days later I sat at his bed while he slept. I watched him. Jason and I alternated, taking turns watching him while he slept so that we knew if anything happened. He was barely awake anymore. He slept probably 18-20 hours a day, and when he was awake all he did was cough. Peter stopped by every once and a while, but he mostly stayed home and waited for me to come home at night to sleep. Right now it was my turn to watch my dad. He was sleeping, his face pale. I held his fragile hand and watched the TV that was turned on. The news was on right now and I was so bored watching it. I closed my eyes, just for a second I told myself. Someone was shaking me. I opened my eyes to Peter.
