Peters POV

I’ve been dying to see the dress Hayden bought. Frankly, if it was anyone else I wouldn’t have given two shits, but the suspense was killing me. Once I brought her home she told me she needed some time with her dad and I understood. She texted me later that night and said they were okay, which made me feel better about her parents’ divorce. Today was the wedding and I was sitting in my Jeep waiting for Hayden to be finished her second exam. She had to be at the nail salon in 20 minutes. Glancing up from my phone she was frantically running towards me, things kept dropping from her arms and she had to go back to pick them up. I tried hard not to laugh at her. She got in and was out of breath.

“Let’s-” breath, “go.” She puffed. I couldn’t hold it in any longer, I broke out in full laughter. She smiled sideways at me. I pressed play on the Drake CD and we drove off. She rapped along and it was quite adorable. I was falling hard for this girl and I hoped it didn’t make me look like I was whipped. I stopped in front of the salon and we got out. I saw her surprised look when I was going in with her, but I didn’t want to be away from her. We went in and she asked for a black French tip, whatever that was. It took forever and I was starting to get antsy. She noticed but didn’t say anything, she just smiled at me and I instantly relaxed. I couldn’t get the song Crew Love by Drake out of my head. I couldn’t tell if it was a coincidence, but Drake was touring right now, and there was a concert 3 hours from here, 4 days after her birthday. I knew I had to take her, so I already bought the tickets last night. Relatively close to the stage, expensive as hell, but who cares? I didn’t, and I would do anything to see Hayden as happy as she was in my car listening to his CD.

“Peter,” she said, poking my shoulder and breaking me from my thoughts. She smiled up at me. “I’m done, come on.” I nodded and we got in the car.

“Your nails look nice.” I said, starting the Jeep and pulling away. They did look nice, but I know it just made her happier cause I said it. She smiled again and turned the CD up. I didn’t mind when she messed around with the channels and the volume. When Kenzie used to do it, I would give her a death stare, wait until she was done before switching it back. She would roll her eyes, but as if I gave a shit. We pulled into my driveway and she looked at me.

“Come by at like 3. It’s an hour drive and plus they’re serving dinner. My dad is driving us there with my mom.” She looked away.

“Okay, see you later.” She smiled at me and hopped out, running up her steps and going inside. I lied on my bed until 2. She had the door closed and a blanket over the balcony door so I couldn’t see her. Sneaky girl. I finally got up and took a shower, shaving my face and the scruff that I got too lazy to shave. I put gel in my hair so it stuck up at the front before going into my room to put my suit on. My suit fit nicely, and I only wore it once before. With my white shirt I tucked it into my pants and then put my jacket on.

“Mum!” I called down the stairs. A few seconds later I heard her coming up the stairs and turned into my room. “Can you tie my tie for me?” She nodded and came over taking the brand new tie from my hand.
