I watch it fade
As the sun slips away
Just another ending
To another day
The clouds begin to gather
As the night sets in
It seems I'm always losing
Even when I win
The shadows stretch
Until they're thin and tall
It won't be long
Before they devour all
The last bits of light
Go out in a blinding blaze
A trickle of orange
Burning into a grayish haze
I watch the last rays
Slip behind the clouds
The shadows unleash their darkness
A sinister creeping heard aloud
I watch it fade into nothing
As night meets day
Silver specks twinkle over
The dark begins to play
