Chapter 3: Uncontrolled Luck?
A person clad in shining white armor fell from the sky.
Rumors say that the [Hero] has been summoned and everyone rejoiced at the appearance of the white knight.
But there was something wrong.
The person that fell was indeed wearing the [Mithril Set] that only [Heroes] can wear, but surrounding him, was a black mist darker than the black night.
So dark, even though it's the middle of the night, they could still see the outline of that deep black mist.
The [Hero] landed with a loud boom.
Then began the horror.
Light crosses immobilized the monsters surrounding the [Hero].
*RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
With the sound of a beast's roar, everyone flinched.
"R-retreat!!! The [Hero] will begin his rampage! Retreat if you value your lives!!!"
The driver that seemed to have carried the [Hero] shouted to everyone in the battlefield.
At first, the soldiers thought that he was not worthy of that order as he was just a driver, one of the many soldiers that could be easily replaced. But after seeing the [Hero] trash around like a wild beast, they dropped their weapons and turned tail.
It was a horrific scene.
A torrent of slashes could be seen damaging the monsters immobilized by [Heaven's Crucifixion] while the [Hero]'s figure blurred.
However, that still wasn't enough to kill them. Transparent black and white masses appeared on both sides of the [Hero] still clad in darkness and began trashing about destroying everything in his surroundings.
Even though the soldiers are already afraid of the [Hero] and began retreating, the monsters still came towards him like magnet of opposite poles attracting each other.
But that still wasn't enough to kill the [Hero].
With three swords, the [Hero] slashed a monster with every move he makes.
At times, the [Hero] would even dissolve into bats, lifts monsters high in the air then drops them with tremendous force.
Monsters would immediately freeze, tornadoes would be born out of nothing, countless wind blades would tear them to ribbons, pillars of water would sprout from the ground, the ground would bend at his touch blocking some of the monsters' attacks.
It was too much, nobody has seen that much magic being used by a single person before.
The soldiers didn't know whether to be scared, happy, surprised, or relieved.
From time to time, red and blue light would come out of the monsters and travel towards the [Hero]. This is actually the vampire's skill [Life Steal] and [Mana Steal] but they didn't know that.
[Life Steal] decreases the caster's MP as price for gaining the enemy's HP with a 1:3 ratio of HP gained and MP decrease and vice versa for [Mana Steal].
But with [Draughtsbane], all Lucas had to do is use [Mana Steal] and gain HP by slashing the enemies with [Draughtsbane]. But with the [Dragon's Wrath] being activated, he's now only using every skill in his arsenal using instinct and not really giving everything he do much thought.
Again of course, the soldier doesn't know that and hence, can only be terrified and amazed by this [Hero] rampaging in the battlefield.
At this moment, they felt grateful for the driver's warning earlier to retreat. If he hadn't warned them, then they would probably be caught up in this mess.
