I Will Not Forget//Bucky Barnes

Sad one because I literally have been watching sad edits ALL DAY! 2 days till Infinity War!!! (This is set in the forties btw)
This is told in 3rd POV:
Bucky Barnes and Y/N L/N we're everyone's favorite couple. The two met in high school, and ever since that moment, he had never ever loved someone more.
When Bucky was drafted to the war, and Y/N was drafted as a nurse. They were sure that the relationship that had been a rock for years, was over. Bucky wanted to marry Y/N before they both left, but decided if Y/N survived he wouldn't want her as a widow. Months later, Y/N was sent to a camp in London. Her nerves ate away at her, but she was happy that she was in a safer camp. In what seemed like seconds, Y/N became best friends with Peggy Carter, and then she became head nurse.
"Did you hear about the Captain America?" A nurse asked curiously. Y/N shook her head.
"I've heard he was a real circus monkey."
The nurse giggled.
"That big muscular circus monkey saved all those missing men!" The nurse chimed.
Y/N walked out of the tent. A huge group of men stood around a tall blonde man. Shouting Captain America. Y/N walked slowly to the group. Then it hit her, that it was Steve Rogers, a best friend of hers. She gasped and turned to walk back to the tent. Peggy noticed and followed her.
"Please excuse me Steve, Y/N! Wait up!" Bucky's eyes flicked from Peggy to Steve.
"Wait, Peggy! Y/N?" Steve asked.
"Y/N L/N, head nurse at the camp." Bucky pressed through the group and followed Peggy to a tent. Peggy knocked on it slowly.
"Y/N?"
"What do you want?" She sniffled.
"I'm coming in." Peggy and Bucky walked in. Y/N looked up and saw Bucky. A gasp and another cry left her. She stood and jumped in his arms.
"James Buchanan Barnes!" She kissed him as she cried.
"Hey, Doll." Bucky replied calmly. Peggy watched from the corner happily. "I've missed you Y/N." Y/N nodded in agreement before getting out of his embrace.
"Is that really Steve out there?" Y/N asked.
"Yeah, little odd, I know." Y/bN tucked some hair behind her ear.
As time went on, Bucky and Steve became apart of the Howling Comandos. It was constant missions, but each time Bucky came back to Y/N. Suddenly, Y/N announced that she was three months pregnant. Bucky was so happy and he made sure that she was sent home.
Peggy,Steve and Bucky had been gone for a while four days. The mission was supposed to be a two day one. Y/N tried not to get worried, but she was. Little did she know, as she paced the camp, her lover would be falling off of a train and her best friend would be saving himself. Two more days passed and Y/N was set to leave, without a goodbye kiss from Bucky, or a tight hug from Steve and no squeeze from her Peggy. Y/N collected her bags and started off before she heard her name, she turned and saw Peggy. Stumbling towards her. Y/N rushed towards her, terrified of what she was going to say.
"Y/N, they- they didn't." Peggy started to sob, Y/N put her head in her hands and cried with her. It was the most heartbreaking sight.
Fast forward two months, Peggy wore a black skirt and a black blouse. Her hand was gloves and intertwined with Y/N's. The funeral treaded on. No bodies to fill the hollow caskets. Y/N wore a black dress, that hid her small bump. Tears no longer falling from her eyes. All her cries were muffled now. Brooklyn seemed so dull without her favorite boys with her. At the end of the funeral, Y/N tore away from the big crowd and made her way to the room where the caskets were. She walked over to Steve's.
"Oh, Stevie. Thank you for protecting me all those years ago, I can never ever thank you enough." A tear slipped, and she sauntered over to Bucky's caskets. She lowered her head and rested it on the picture of Bucky they had.
"Oh James. I don't know how I can go on, but I will. For our baby. I think it's a girl. I love you, and I know that I didn't say that enough. How stupid of me." She paused to let out a sad chuckle. "I won't forget you Bucky Barnes." Y/N stood and walked away. Turning around once.
Peggy didn't want to, but she had to leave to help take Hydra down. Y/N had her baby. A girl, Martha Rose Barnes.
And for once in months. Y/N was happy. Martha looked so much like Bucky it was magical almost. Of course she looked like Y/N as well, but you could most definitely tell she was Bucky's kid. Peggy loved Martha with all her heart.
"Oh she's definitely going to be in Shield!" Peggy would always tell Y/N. It was like a small dysfunctional family, and although it had its chaos. Y/N would never ask for a new one.
