Alex's POV

I told her. It was the truth, but not the complete truth. Around six months ago, I was vice-captain of the cheerleading team, had a perfect boyfriend, was popular and was a part of Candy's posse.

I'd known Candy since we were kids, and we lived next door, and still do. She was a fun kid, and was nothing like the bitch she is now. The Candy I knew then, was just different. She liked Tom & Jerry, Dora, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, had a fear of being left alone and was shy around boys.

The Candy that exists now flirts with every good looking guy she sees, even if she has a boyfriend, goes to parties and returns home the next day, drinks, smokes, got tattoos and worst of all, lost her virginity.

Her cheating on me with Kevin wasn't what made us enemies. It was me refusing to drink, smoke and lose my virginity for the sake of popularity and being 'cool'.

I wasn't gonna give in, and have sex with just any guy to be part of the 'in' crowd. Candy had been driven insane because of her popularity. Eventually, I stopped hanging out with her and the rest of her posse, instead, talking to other guys and girls who weren't so popular. These people may not be famous all over the school, but they were nice, helpful and happy to have me as a friend. Plus, they didn't judge me because of all the things I'd done before.

Because of this, Candy started to hate me, and tried to embarrass me in front of everyone. But I wasn't gonna back down so easily, which is why she made sure no popular girls or guys from all of East High talked to me, except when they were insulting me.

But that was when Nikki came. She was new, but she had an aura of leadership surrounding her. You couldn't help but like her, since she was sweet, nice, didn't judge, and generally awesome. Plus, she was the type of chick who could, and would, stand up to bitches like Candy.

That was what brought me back to our current conversation.

'No. Freaking. Way.' she said, her face expressionless, but eyes wide.

'Yes. Freaking. Way' I replied.

Nikki's POV

And this was the part, where I find out that my new kind-of-bestfriend, used to friends with the bitch.

'Explain' I demanded, with a straight face. And so she did. I listened, nodding at times, without interrupting and was shocked to hear it.

'Woah. Alex, I'm so sorry, it must have been screwed up after your breakup and then the Candy thing,'
