Chapter Sixty

Amber's POV

After the boys left Brook and I sat on the curb for awhile. Trying to recover from the departure from the boys. Dani though was one tough cookie. She just sat there. Blank. Nothing on her face. Just blank.

"Ready to go to the doctors now?" Brook asks while wiping her eyes. Her baby was gonna be a girl. Which was adorable. I was happy for her. She always wanted a girl for a first born. As for me I wanted a boy first. Then maybe a girl. I nod and stand up. I brush the dirt off of my shorts and adjusted my tank top. My belly wasn't showing that much yet. There was a bump sure, but it wasn't as big as Brook's.

We take a cab and go to the hospital I was supposed to have my ultrasound at. Ethan was asleep as we arrived there somewhere around noon. We hadn't had lunch yet and I was really craving for tacos. I don't know why but I've been craving tacos from taco bell a lot lately. My cravings with Ethan wasn't this bad. It lasted maybe a day or two but maybe this was different since I was having twins. I didn't know for sure but the difficulty somehow doubled with the twins. Well I expected this because I was having twins, I just didn't know it'd be this bad.

"Amber Marie Carter." The -what seems like the head nurse- called me into the ultrasound room and told me to lie down on the bed. I obliged and quickly lied down. Brook came in with her phone.

"I'm face timing the boys so they'd see if you're having one of each or both boys or girls." She said and showed me her phone. I can see Luke and the boys on the screen. They smiled at me and waved. I returned the gesture until the doctor from last time came in and did my ultrasound.

"Well your babies seem healthy. No problems so far. Ambiotic fluid in control. Heartbeats normal. Do you wanna know the genders of the twins?" Doctor Jane said and I nodded.

"TELL MEE!" Luke yelled from the phone.

"Looks like. You're having... Both girls!" She exclaims and cingratulates us. I start tearing up as I heard Luke and the boys celebrating from Brook's phone. I look at the monitor and ask Dr. Jane for a printed out copy.

As soon as she was out of the room I grabbed Brook and hugged her. I started crying and she soothed my back.

"I love you." Luke said from the phone. I grab Brook's phone and talk to them for a while. We started debating about names and making the guest room into a nursery and the girls' bedroom. Luke was excited I could tell. Last time he was this giddy was when we went out on our first date four years ago.

He started stating girl names like "Cassandra" or "Sophia" it was all too common though I loved it. I wanted something unique for my little princesses. Something sophisticated and just weird but beautiful.

Ethan and I went home while Brook grabbed her stuff because she was staying at the house for awhile along with mom and Jack. Just to keep an eye on me. I don't blame them. I can get a little overworked at times. So I am appreciating what they're doing for me. It's for my daughters after all.

I was tempted to call Luke but decided against it. He needed to sleep. We didn't sleep much last night. Both of us were crying. We didn't want to be far from each other. Specially now. I don't want him to be away but I have no choice.
