Chapter Ninety Two

Amber's POV

Mom has been in a coma for a day and a half now. She goes into surgery later. And I don't know if I'm nervous or scared. I haven't checked or charged my phone for the past day. My nerves has taken over and made me forget completely about everything else aside from my mom.

"Amber she's going to be fine." Jack said placing a hand on my shoulder as she set Rydel's bag at the foot of mom's bed. I look up at him and placed a hand over his and offered him a small smile. "Michael called again. And Luke. He was checking how you've been." He said and pulled his hand away. Luke has been calling to check on me? He.... He hasn't popped into my mind in a while. How was he? How was Loella? Has he been doing okay? Wait why am I thinking about Luke all of a sudden? I shouldn't be thinking of Luke. I should be thinking about mom. And Rydel. And Ethan. And Mikey and Jack.

"Luke?" I ask him as I stood up from the bed and looked over at Rydel's car seat -where she slept very peacefully- and Ethan who was eating a bag of Lay's. "Yeah he call and left three voice mails an hour ago." Jack explained as he walked over mom's bed.

"Oh." Was all that I said as I slumped my shoulders and pinched the bridge of my nose. I screw my eyes shut for a moment having no sleep for the past day and a half, my vision was spinning. "Hey you okay?" Jack asked as I bent over and tried to catch my breath.

"Yeah just fine." I say as I swallow the lump growing in my throat. I took a deep breath and stood upright and walked over to Ethan and hugged him. I said nothing. He said nothing. He just let me hold him tight. After a moment, maybe a minute or two the door swung open and two boys -whom I know who- entered. Mikey. And Luke.

"Michael!" I said loudly. Not as a scream just loudly. I let go of Ethan and hugged my boyfriend -who I missed so much by the way- tightly. He hugged my equally as tight and I nuzzled my face in the crook of his neck. "I missed you so much babe." He whispered as he rubbed my back soothing my nerves as I smiled again.

"I missed you so much more Mike." I replied as I continue to stand on my toes and nuzzle as close to as possible in his neck. "Nice to know I was missed." Luke whispered loudly. I could almost hear his eyes rolling. I roll my eyes mentally and slapped him. Mentally of course.

"Daddy!!!" Ethan yelled as he ran up and hugged Michael's leg. Ouch! That has got to sting. I said to myself -referring to Luke- as I pulled away and let Mikey pick Ethan up. I let them talk for a while as I made my way over to Luke. "Hey!" I said offering him a small smile. Well this is awkward.

"Hey how you holding up?" He asks. As if you don't know. I smile up at him shrugged. "Pretty good I guess." I replied as I played with the sleeves of the jumper I was wearing -which was his.-

"You don't look like it." He said lowly. Almost like a whisper. I heard it though. I sniffled a bit and sighed. He knew me too well.

"Good afternoon." The doctor said as he swung the door open as he entered my mother's room with a few nurses in pursuit. We greeted him back as the nurses prepared my mom for surgery. This is it.

"We will do whatever it takes." He assured us and gave me a warm smile. I watched as they take her out of the room.

Good luck mom. Please. Make it through.
