Michael's POV
Its been hours since I arrived back from London. Amber still hasn't talked. Nor has she set Mia down or gave Mia to the nurses. She's just looking down at Mia. Sometimes she sobs but that's it. She hasn't eaten anything and I'm worried. She hasn't done anything either. She just holds on to Mia for dear life. I understand though. She lost her child. And she's been through a lot.
"Isn't she lovely?" I heard her voice. I looked up at her and she glanced at me. Motioning for me to come over to her and Mia. I smiled a small smile and walk over to her. I sit down beside her and look at the baby in her arms. She started squirming. And her eyes opened. They look just like mine.
"Look. She has your eyes." Amber said. I smiled and nodded.
"Oh how I wish Caitlin was here. She must be beautiful as her sister." She whispers to me as she looks at Mia with loving eyes.
"She'll always be here Amber." I said as the doors opened.
"Amber." he said.
"Lucas." She said not really acknowledging his presence. She just keeps looking from me to Mia.
"I.. I caught the earliest flight I could get." He said as he cautiously inched closer.
"It doesn't matter." She says as she lays her head on my shoulders.
"I.. is that my daughter?" He asks again.
"No. It's Mikey's. She even has his eyes." She says. She's taking this well. And I'm scared that she'll break down any minute now.
"Look Luke, I want things to finally end between us. I'm with Mikey you're with her." She says as she looked past Luke and looked at Zoe. Of course he brought her along. "And I'm fine with it. I'm happy now. And so are you." she says and he nods.
"Can we be friends instead?" He asked and this time, she nodded.
She finally gave up on him. I know he still loves her. I can see it in his eyes for fucks sake. He never looks at Zoe the way he does at Amber. And I'm scared that one day she'll realize she still loves him and leaves me. Because Luke always loved Amber. I can see it. He always did. After he left three years ago. When he was with Brook. And now when he is with Zoe. I don't know what the fuck his problem is, but everyone knows he is in love with Amber. And he doesn't even realize it.
"Hey babe can you get me something to eat? I'm starving. Literally." She said and I nodded. I stood up kissing her head and walking out. Luke follows and walks beside me.
"Can I ask a favor?" He asks me and I look at him.
"If you want me to steal another pack of gummy bears for you I swear to god I will beat you with a frying pan." I threatened as I cracked a smile.
"No not that you twat. I was gonna ask you to take real good of Amber yeah?" He said and I nod.
"Of course." I say as I pressed the lift to the Cafeteria.
"You better or I will beat you with a shovel." He said as we laughed.
But he wasn't happy. I can see it. Right there. In his eyes. He was trying to let her go..
