Season 3: The Hybrid

Damon angrily rips the papers off the bulletin board. Stefan said not to follow him anymore, so he won't. He made it clear last night. A news reporter on t.v talks about Andie's unfortunate death. peers around the corner, glancing at the board. Was this what Elena was talking about last night? Rosalie takes her circle sunglasses off and sets them on the top of her head.

"Hey" She smiles softly. Damon stares at her. He could tell she was crying earlier, her right cheek is redder than the rest of her face. Elena got her good.

"Hey..." Rosalie licks her lips. She retucks her shirt in the back. The satin material kept slipping out of her shorts.

"Stefan called me last night" Damon scrunches up his eyebrows.

"What? What did he say?"

"He said my name and that he loves me and that was it" Damon clenches his jaw. Seems they were given two different messages last night. Damon shakes his head.

"He's just giving you what you want. He knows we've been tracking him the last couple of months. He's hoping you'll leave him alone. Stefan's gone" Damon walks over to the fireplace with the papers, tossing the scraps in the fireplace. Rosalie frowns.

"If he was gone, he wouldn't have called and told me he loves me. He sounded like he was crying. To me, that doesn't sound like he's given up" Damon lights the match and tosses into the fire pit. Rosalie sighs, exiting the room.

Rosalie accidentally trips over a tree root, barely catching herself on a tree. After hours of convincing and having Alaric spill every ounce of information he has, they went on a road trip. To the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. Alaric sighs and continues to walk on. Rosalie collects herself and roughly follows behind Alaric. Hiking isn't Rosalie's strong point.

"In a couple hours, the full moon's gonna rise just above that ridge" Alaric points to the mountain to the left of them. Below them to the left, is a swampy, pond area. "If Tyler's right, that's where the pack'll be" Rosalie nods.

Alaric rounds to a tree stump, swinging his bag off his shoulder and setting it down. Rosalie thanks him in her head. If he knew she wasn't good at this, they'd be heading home. Alaric is starting to catch on. Alaric opens the bag and her eyes widen.

"Wow. All of this?" Alaric chuckles.

"Well, we aren't exactly bird-watching" Rosalie nods. Alaric digs into the side of his bag and takes out a yellow liquid bottle with funky cap on the top. "Here, take this. Put that in your bag" Rosalie gently plucks it from his handd and examines it.

"What is it?" Alaric glances back at her.

"Wolfsbane" Rosalie slowly nods, sticking it into the mesh pocket on the side of her bag. Rosalie bites her lip, slipping her hand into her pocket and taking John Gilbert's ring out of her pocket.

"Here. I want you to be safe" Alaric scrunches up his eyebrows.

"How'd you--"

"Jeremy. It's belongs to you now" Rosalie takes Alaric's hand and slips it on his pointer finger. Alaric guiltily smiles down at Rosalie. If only she knew who he called.

Rosalie plops her bag on the ground and stretches her arms into the air. "Should we take a quick water break? It's pretty hot here--" Damon comes up behind Rosalie and harshly shoves her into the swamp/pond. Rosalie gasps and plummets to the water. She takes in a huge gulp of water and reappears quickly at the surface. Alaric grabs his crossbow, aiming at the stranger, only to see it's Damon.
