Chapter Seventy-Two

Season 4: We All Go a Little Mad Sometimes

Rosalie crosses her arms and sighs. Stefan called her last night and said that Elena killed Connor. It's her first kill. She couldn't imagine how awful she was feeling. Stefan said she went and tried to bury him and was crying hysterically when him and Damon went to go find her. Rosalie stayed with Jeremy last night to make sure he was okay. Seeing Jeremy be shot, or someone just attempting to kill him gave her the chills.

Jeremy had went downstairs to grab some water for himself and her. They had just been sitting, cuddling and talking. Jeremy's fully healed thankfully. She tugs on the bottom of her grey frilly shorts and swipes her hair behind her back. She crosses her arm again and slightly hugs herself. The little white tank top wasn't keeping her warm.

"Rosalie!" Elena screeches from the kitchen. Her voice filled with regret and panic. Rosalie immediately bolts out of Jeremy's bedroom and runs down the stairs. She quickly turns the corner and gasps.

Elena drops the large bloody kitchen knife on the ground. Jeremy holds his throat and a short grunt leaves his mouth. Rosalie's eyes widen and she jogs over. Blood pours out of Jeremy's wound.

"Oh, my god!" Elena cries. Jeremy legs give out and Elena tries to catch him. She helps him sit against the kitchen island. Rosalie kneels down beside them and looks at his throat.

"Elena, what did you do?!" Rosalie grabs the towel on the counter and presses it on his neck.

"Jer! Jer! No, no, no!" Elena grasps Jeremy's hand to see him wearing the Gilbert ring. He was wearing it thankfully. "Oh, Jer!" Rosalie takes deep breaths. There can't two girls freaking out.

Rosalie, Elena and Damon all stand in the living room. Elena had called him first because she didn't want Stefan sugarcoating the situation. Rosalie hugs her body. Jeremy lays on the couch unconscious and bloody.

"I can't believe this happened. What--What am I going to say to him?" Elena stutters. It was finally daylight and all the blood is clear for everyone to see.

"Thanks for not ditching the family ring after it drove Ric crazy?" Rosalie nudges the ravenette. Damon glances down at her. "You should have called Stefan" Rosalie looks at her feet.

"I don't want to talk to him. He's the one for decided to help that lunatic" Elena paces back and forth. Rosalie shivers.

"Look, he probably has a logical reason why he's helping Klaus--"

"There's always a reason. Doesn't mean it's good one, Rosalie" Elena snaps. Rosalie blinks. "He--He's been lying to all of us and hiding everything. He compelled Jeremy to forget god knows what!" Damon narrows his eyes at Elena.

"In all fairness, I think you killing him kind of trumps that. I mean, you should have called Stefan" Rosalie shakes her head.

"She called you, Damon. You're also reliable" Damon gives an almost unnoticeable smile. Elena caught it. She lets out a scoff.

"I don't trust him right now," Elena glances at Rosalie. "And neither should she" Rosalie scrunches her eyebrows together.

The front door opens and in comes Stefan. Damon gives a awkward smile.

"Hey" Stefan breathes; rushing into the living room.

"P.S-- I called Stefan" Damon spills. Rosalie smiles at her boyfriend.
