Season Four: After School Special

"Carol Lockwood always said that togetherness, in times of tragedy, leads to healing, that one community is stronger than a thousand of its members" Elena brushes her candle against the wick of Rosalie's to light it. Rosalie carefully does the same for Bonnie. "But how does a community stay strong after losing its leader?" Liz Forbes speaks. "And Carol was so much more than just a mayor. She was...an open-minded friend...and a concerned mother, taken from us too soon by a terrible accident.

"Screw this" Tyler whispers. It gets up from the stands and wiggles through the sitting students to leave the gym. Liz watches him.

"Please join me in observing a minute of silence in her memory" The students bow their heads and become silent. Rosalie gulps. She couldn't believe that Klaus killed Tyler's mom, for what Hayley did.

Rosalie's eyes stay on the door when she sees someone walk into the gym. A girl with little longer than shoulder length hair that was a pale blonde. Pale skin with bright blue eyes. Dressed in a white dress with a necklace dangling from her neck. Rosalie's eyes widen.

Rebekah.

Bonnie sees the fear in her eyes. Bonnie looks over there, but she's no longer there. Bonnie goes back to her friend.

"Are you okay?" Rosalie nods.

"Yeah, I'll be right back" Bonnie scrunches her eyebrows together.

"Thank you very much. In the wake of this tragedy, the two has selected an interim mayor. Many of you already know him. Please welcome Mr. Rudy Hopkins"

A dark skinned man stands up from the bottom bleacher and gets up to the podium. He shakes the sheriff's hand and stares out to the students.

"Thank you, Sheriff. Carol Lockwood put this town first...." Rosalie exits the gym. She places the candle on the table outside the room.

She had to confirm that it was Rebekah. Instead of hearing the click of heels, she hears someone crying. She instantly freezes. Did Rebekah attack someone? Rosalie jogs down the hall and looks both ways to the find the voice. She sees April by her locker, crying.

"April?" The ravenette looks up from the floor and the petite girl walking towards her. "What's wrong?" Rosalie questions once she's standing in front of her.

"Nothing. I'm fine" She wipes her face. Rosalie scrunches her eyebrows together in concern for her friend.

"But you're crying. You can talk to me" April licks her lips.

"It's just the whole mayor thing. You know, it's bringing up stuff with my dad" Rosalie smiles softly.

"Do you need a hug?" April shakes her head.

"It's okay, thank you though" April frowns. She stares Rosalie dead in the eyes. "And I know you hang out with vampires" Rosalie's eyes widen.

"What're you talking about April?" Rosalie asks fearfully.

Rebekah comes up behind the brunette and hits her in the back of the head. The hit knocks her out and her body collides with the floor.

"Was that necessary?" April trembles.

"No, but it was fun" Rebekah smiles.

Rosalie groans and opens her eyes. Instead of being in the hallway where she got knocked out, she's in the school library. She massages the back of her head. Rebekah hit her pretty hard. She stumbles to a stand. April walks over to her with an betrayed expression.
