This chapter would be like a filler chapter of sorts. Just preparing you guys for what's to come. This would be confusing as hell. But please understand.

Anyways, I hope you would like it. Even just a little bit.

Honestly, I am running out of ideas with what to do with this book, or how will it progress further. Because I feel that you enjoy reading this piece of fiction as much as I enjoy writing it, which is not much. I admit that I’m getting a tad bot bored with the pace I set to this story. I do not regret writing it this way though. It’s just that I lost my interest with this because of its (too) slow pace.

And that is why I wanted to start a new fic. Think of it as a sequel to this book that does not require anyone to read through this to understand the next book. I wanted to make a fresh new start with this plotline. It might bring a little confusion at first to the old readers since I will be cooperating the mystery genre (my favorite genre of all time) to the sequel. The title for the next book will be presented for the next chapter, that is supposed to be an advertisement chapter.

And without further ado, this would be the third to the last chapter for “Disconnected Harmonies.”

Rin’s POV

… I had a friend once…

“Akkun wait for me!”

“Rii-chan! Hurry up you slow poke!"

… He was a ball of sunshine…

“Look look Rii-chan! It’s a blue butterfly!”

… My family is a broken one. All my parents do is fight each other…

“This has gone too far woman!”

… But he was always there for me…

“You should be careful more. Rii-chan or Re-nii would get angry at us again. A beautiful girl like you should not get dirty or you’ll look like a mud monster!”

… Together with my older brother and his little sister…

“Nii-chan! I wanna swing!”

“Let’s Go! Rii-can, You come too!”

“Careful you three.”

… Those innocent days we spent at the playground pushed aside our problems…

“Nii-chan push me harder!”

“If I push you harder you might fall Rin. And be careful with your little sister Akkun.”

… If only we could go back to those days of constant bliss…

“Onii-chan! Where are you going!”

“I’m going to work Rin. I’ll be leaving home for now. If Mother and father asks say that you don’t know where I’m going okay?”

“Okay! But, when will you come back?”

“I don’t know Rin. But I promise to come back for you soon. So wait for me okay?”

… But of course, there is no “if” in this world…

“Rin! Run away from here! GO!”

“But what about otou-san?”

“You’re father is gone Rin! Do you want to die too?! RUN AWAY! NEVER TURN BACK! LIVE ON!
Go Rin… Please… My dear butterfly… RUN AWAY!”

… I was saved…

“What is your name little one.”

“R-Rin… m-m-my na—me is…Rin”

“Hush. Stop crying now Rin. You’re safe now.”

“From now on, you will be called Rin Kagamine.”

… We are all victims in this game. Pawns used to the satisfaction of the player…

“Hi! I’m Iroha! Nice to meet you onee-chan!”

“Rin-chan. From now on, you will live here with us. Is that ok with you?”

… With no choice, we follow the rules of the game, with no knowledge of what is being played…

“Don’t go anywhere if we are not near. You got that girls?”

… We can’t choose what game to play. It is assigned to us…

“Oh that? I feel it’s better if you go to separate schools. Isn’t it more fun if you do?”

… But even so, I can’t help but miss those good old days…

“You’re so good at singing. Do you want to sing for the kids at the park tomorrow? We invited another singer, but I’m afraid she might not make it.”

“No problem! Under the tallest Sakura tree in the park tomorrow afternoon right?”

… I just never knew that I would see him again…

“He left a can of lemonade like a crazy stalker. Silly Akkun.”

… Get a chance to talk to him again…

“On the twentieth! There is a recital at Kawakura elementary! Meet me there!”

“And let me guess, both of you snuck out.”

“Because I did the exact same thing.”

… But now he’s gone. Again. He left for Euroupe. And I never got the chance to say something I should have said before. I should have just told him the truth, not hide behind a lie of innocence…

“Akkun. I miss you, so much.”
