(Michael's POV)A few weeks had passed since we had arrived in Gary and the snow has packed on at least another inch or so. But one thing had really been on my mind since then, I couldn't stop thinking about Anna.
*Flashback*
"Mike I'm going to try and see if the cars can get out of the driveway. We might be snowed in." Bill said to me as he made his way down the stairs. I was making my way to Anna's room but stopped when I heard voices inside. It was very discourteous of me, but I couldn't help but listen in.
"I still see that your cheeks flare up when I talk about him." I heard May say.
"And?" Anna's sarcastic voice made me snicker humorously.
"And you like him." My heart skipped a beat as the truth began to unfold.
"Ha, yeah right." She said quickly.
"Sweetheart, you can lie to me about this all you want, but you can't lie to yourself about this."
"Maybe I do, but right now he has more important things to worry about than some girl. I just don't want to talk about it."
"I understand, but I see the way you two look at each other and it's obvious that he still has feelings for you too."
"Dinner should be ready soon, so just finish up packing and come help me." could hear footsteps coming towards the door as I shuffled back to make it seem like I was just coming out of the room.
*End Of Flashback*
I tried so hard to not think about it, but every time I looked at her all I can think about is her feelings. I still can't get over the fact that has feelings for me, and I myself have feelings for her as well. Tonight was our last night here before we fly to California to see my family, so I decided to bring back the old memories.
"What do you mean out?" Anna asked as I brought up the idea.
"I mean out to the town, come on. It will be fun!" She gave me a stern glare.
"But it's cold!" She whined.
"You'll get over it." She flopped herself back into her unmade bed from this morning. I grabbed her by the ankles and yanked her towards me, her legs straddling my waist. She nervously brushed her hair out of the way as I let go.
"Whatever, I'll go. But if I get frostbite, I'm blaming you."
"You won't get frostbite, I'll be sure of that." I smiled at her as I went to my room to get dressed.
...
(Anna's POV)
Michael decided to take me out to the town unwillingly as usual. The temperature has continued to decrease since we've been here and so far, it's been in the negatives. I bundled up in one of Uncles old coats and a long scarf as Michael brought us outside into the Jeep that was waiting for us, warmed up thanks to Bill.
"What's first on the agenda?" Michael grinned as he helped me in.
"It wouldn't be a surprise if I told you." I groaned at the fact that Michael has prepared way too many surprises for me.
"These surprises are starting to give me headaches." He laughed as he rubbed my head. I watched as snow began to fall lightly once again on us. Luckily, the roads have been cleared for us to drive on but it was the slick sheets of ice that covered the pavement. I felt Michael's glove covered hand grasp mine as he supplied my hand with warmth through the gloves I wore. Sometimes you never know how much you need someone until they leave your life. I felt Aunt May's response to me a while ago and basically all the time pop back in my head. 'You can't lie to yourself about this.' She was right, I can put on a pretty face for everyone else, but I can't fool myself and shade the truth. I needed to tell him, but how would he react? Happy that I like him or weird to know that his best friend has a crush on him.
