The impatient patient
Confused, though the issue is patent
He and She doesn't know
Which way to turn
Doesn't want their heart to burn
Just like a spoiled child
Never learning from pain
You can't tell them this isn't the way
They'll just continue to struggle and strain
What is the cure
For resenting your own company?
Should I diagnose
Or should I wait for an epiphany?
Countless losses, nothing gained
Giving in weakness
Then end up feeling more drained
Love is not without risk
The other half will not secure
I can make a suggestion
But you might not like me anymore
There are things about you
That you don't even know
Search yourself a little bit
Give yourself an open door
Shed the weight off, free your mind
Turn your music up
And in oneness unwind
This dependency on a dependent
Is a means to your end
This prejudice against the singular
Are for those who play pretend
What if there isn't a "The one"
And what if there is?
What if we stay single forever?
What if we marry and have kids?
It's neither here nor there
It's not what matters the most
You are not selfish
If you choose to be your own host
If we cannot be an individual
We cannot contribute
Because half of us is in someone else
We demortalize our truth
There's no medication
But this here is some therapy
It may not be fun to be lonely
But it's worse being together and unhappy.S.K.Malcolm
