You see, when I said I wanted to find the other lions, I didn't mean I wanted to almost die.
Key word: Almost.
My life was currently in the hands of a pilot in training and he was having a little too much fun with this.
And you know what?
So was I.
A smile was plastered on to my lips as we broke through a rocky barrier.
Everyone was huddled in what seemed like a cockpit. The small room had an extreme tension of fear, confusion, and adrenaline.
Who wouldn't be scared with Lance at the wheel? I mean, as proud as I was that Lance finally got a chance to shine, I constantly felt like my heart was going to drop out of my ass.
That's why it was fun!
"Lance, go faster!" I screamed, clasping my hands onto the back of his chair.
Immedietly, I could feel everyone's gaze land on me, searing holes into my skin.
"You got i-"
"No Lance, do not go faster! We want to make it out of here alive!" Shiro interjected.
I scoffed, looking towards Shiro's direction.
"What's wrong Shiro? Do you not have faith in our pilot?"
He immediately took offense towards my snide comment. I was even shocked at how rude that came out.
"That's not what I meant, (Y/N)!" He countered.
"Then stop trying to hold him back!" I added.
Everyone was screaming in what seemed like fear or excitement. At this point, the line had blurred.
Shiro and I had kept going at it, like two lions fighting for territory.
We were knocked back into reality when we noticed how silent the cockpit got.
We turned our heads towards what everyone was looking at.
Slowly our mouths became ajar, a small gasp escaping them.
We were no longer in the comfort of our planet. We we're exposed in the middle of outer space.
We we're vulnerable without any protection besides this ship.
"Holy sh-"
"Where are we?" Hunk spoke over me.
The room went quiet for a good second.
"...Um, space?" Keith answered hesitantly.
"Well yeah I know that, but where?"
I looked out into the vast horizon of empty darkness. A feeling of helplessness had overcome the tension in the room.
"There is no 'where' Hunk. It's just space with some big rocks that you sometimes see." I said, with slight melancholy soaking my words.
"I think I'm going to be sick." Hunk informed.
"Hunk, you always get sick, so this isn't much of a shocker" Pidge nudged.
While everyone conversed about how we happened to be in the middle of space, no one seemed to notice how fast the lion was going.
Or where the lion was going.
"Guys?" I spoke softly.
Grabbing no one's attention, I spoke once again.
"Guys."
Everyone ignored me once more. Growing very agitated, I bellowed throughout the cockpit.
"Guys!"
Everyone looked towards me in a shocked manner.
"Where are we going!?" I pointed towards the window.
"Good question. Lance, where are we going?" Pidge inquired.
"I...don't know."
A small unison of confused grunts had echoed around the room.
"Listen, this thing is telling me where to go. It's like feeding ideas into my head."
"Then what is it saying?" Shiro asked.
"...Nothing." Lance let his head fall, defeated.
"Great! So we're going to die in space. I'm never going to see my family ever again! I'll never get to tell my mother I love her. I'll never get to eat the biggest sandwich in the world!" Hunk cried.
"Hunk, shut up a second," Keith put his hand up. "What is that?"
Everyone's attention was now facing the window. A foreign ship of gargantuan size was now looming over us.
Silence filled the room. A small murmur escaped Shiro's lips.
"They found me."
Soon the calm was interrupted. The other ship began to greet us with an extremely violent start.
They shot beams of what seemed like lasers at lion.
The ship jerked, causing us to let out some expletives as some of us almost lost balance.
As I began to speak up, I was interrupted by my vision starting to blur.
I stumbled back from the group into the back of the cockpit, trying to keep my eyes open.
Of all times, why was this happening now?
Keith turned around as he saw me stumble backwards.
"(Y/N), are you okay?" He began to approach me slowly. Concern had filled his voice, comforting me slightly.
I put my hand up to prevent him from getting any closer. I didn't know what exactly was going on, but I didn't want to drag any of the others into it. I looked at him with pained eyes, but nodded slowly.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm all good. Don't worry about me." I brushed off.
"Really? Cause you're nose is bleeding." Keith pointed out.
I brought the back of my hand up to my nose, dragging it across my nostril. A streak of crimson covered my hand.
A small laugh irrupted from my throat.
"It seems so." I shrugged.
Keith made his way towards me once again, but I stopped him in his tracks.
"Keith I'm fine, okay? I'm fi-"
I stopped mid-sentence when a sharp pain ruptured through my head.
The excruciating headache that once plagued my head had returned.
I fell to the floor, knees first, grabbing my head. It was as if someone was shooting bullets into my skull, non-stop.
Soon the only sound that was heard was my screams echoing throughout the ship, and lasers being shot.
A beautiful way to start an adventure.
