"Okay, would you rather...save yourself from a blazing fire or die trying to save others?"

"Oh man, what kinda question is that, Viv?"

Vivian sneered, a tired and paled grin growing on her face. "It's a moral dilemma."

"No its not," (Y/N) chuckled, "A moral dilemma is like you accidentally killing one child or three adults."

"Oh my goodness, who cares! Just pick one!" Frustrated laughter soon came from Vivian, her palm making way to her forehead.

"Okay, okay. Er, do I actually save anyone or will my death be in vain?"

Vivian gave (Y/N) a squinted glare. She couldn't say she wasn't having fun with them. I mean, they made her dreary room feel a lot more like home with just their presence.

With a defeated sigh, Vivian nodded, "You actually save people."

"Then I would definitely go with the second option."

Vivian scoffed,"I knew it. You always gotta play hero, (Y/N). If I had a chance to escape, I would. I'm sure those other people would get like I did."

(Y/N) shook their head, not even able to bear the thought of letting people suffer at their disposal. "Nah, I don't think saving myself would be an option if I knew there's still people stuck inside a blazing fire."

"Even if you knew you'd die?"

"Yep. Other lives over one."

(Y/N) stared at Lance's resting face, his lip twitching ever so slightly. There were multiple cuts scattered across his face, but it was nothing a healing pod couldn't fix.

He seemed to be completely unconscious, envy growing on (Y/N)'s part. How they wished they could sleep away the haunting decision they would soon have to make.

Lance needed medical attention immediately, or else he would certainly bleed to death. His skin was already clammy and he was multiple shades paler.

This pod was the only chance of escaping certain death, or becoming a prisoner of war. Not like the Galra would show them such mercy. However, (Y/N) was willing, no, ready to give that up.

They pressed a small kiss on his temple, taking a shaky breath before pulling away.

Hunk got to his feet, feeling the weight of the world fall onto his shoulders. "Alright, get strapped in. I'm sending you guys back to the ship." Hunk struggled.

His tone was solemn, his words drenched with fear and dejection.

Anyone could tell he didn't quite want to say goodbye to the ones he loved. Despite that, however, he thought it was the only way for Lance and (Y/N) to escape. For Lance, (Y/N), and the rest of the Paladins to keep on fighting for the universe.

And he was right.

There was no where else to turn, and the Paladins lived on borrowed time. The fact that they were alive without the rest of the team was an absolute miracle. And it was guaranteed that it will not happen again.

Slowly rising to their feet, (Y/N)'s fists fell to their side. They knew that Hunk was absolutely going to hate what they had to offer.

"No, Hunk. You go back with Lance." They commanded. "I'll stay here and try to fight-"

"You won't make it. They'll kill you once they've got eyes on you."

"Well I'll hold them off until someone sends for me." They tried to make excuses up as they argued, knowing well that they won't survive for long.
