Keith's P.O.V

It felt like Allura sent (Y/N) and I on a wild goose chase. This pod ride to planet Whatever was taking forever, but (Y/N) could have sworn it was only twenty minutes ago that we left.

My leg began bouncing at a very quick pace. Maybe I'm just impatient.

(Y/N) snickered in their seat. "Goodness, Keith. I can't tell if you're nervous or just hate waiting."

"A little bit of both, actually."

(Y/N) nodded a bit, their smile having yet to leave their lips. "Same here."

They gazed out the window that held the view of the entire universe. It was breathtakingly intimidating. There were clusters of stars in every direction. Sometimes meteors would hurl at us, causing (Y/N) to murmur a little "Holy shit."

"So (Y/N)," I began. "How did you know how to find us?"

They glanced at me for a quick second before their eyes traveled to the wall. They shifted a bit in their seat cracking their knuckles.

They tucked in their arms and began to ponder.

"Well," They cleared their throat.

"Something kind of...brought me here? If that makes any sense. One minute I was just chilling at my place, playing my guitar, then all of the sudden, boom,"  Their hands opened wide, wiggling their fingers.
"I'm somehow saving your asses. I think I got a case of whiplash too."

They rubbed the back of their neck, soothing the pain that made them wince everytime they moved.

Skeptical, I leaned forward. "So you just...found us?"

"Yeah, that sounds about right."

I nodded, leaning back into my seat.

"Interesting."

Unidentified P.O.V

The two's pod landed ever so swiftly onto the onyx surface. The surface was so black, that it partially absorbed the light the pod emitted. This made it extremely hard to see for the paladins.

Keith was the first to exit the ever-so-claustrophobic ship. He stretched his body in many different directions, earning a few cracks from his tired bones.

He hastily scanned the plain around him, taking in the isolated feeling that the planet gave off. The horizon showed no sign light, just darkness that felt as if it could swallow him whole.

Not even his Midriff Jacket ™ could protect him from the cold that immediately raced through his body once he stepped outside. Each breath he took would be evident as it took shape in the air around him. For the first time in a long while, he felt completely helpless and empty, just as the planet did before their arrival.

(Y/N) slowly came up from behind Keith, making sure to be absolutely quiet. They cautiously watched their steps and crept up on his back.

When the moment was right, they  pounced right behind Keith.

"RAHH!"

Keith jumped in his spot, his skin turning white in fear. Not processing what was going on, he turned his heel with his hand in a fist. He didn't take a second to think that it could have probably been his colleague. This was his fight response.

Soon his leathered fist came into contact with something soft and warm, earning the sound of an agonized groan that escaped from     (Y/N). Their cries of pain is what knocked Keith back into reality.
