A malevolent chuckle ruptured from Sendak, amusement drawn across his face. "Now, why do think I'd possibly let you go?"
(Y/N) kept an attentive eye on Sendak, studying his movements and taking in his words. The bayard was still secure between their hands, finger on the trigger if he tried to pull anything.
"I killed all four of your soldiers, and I will not hesitate killing you if you don't release me." They demanded.
Sendak bellowed with laughter once more, cockiness and arrogance tickling his funny bone. He grew confused with a smirk tugging as his lips.
"You won't kill me," He mocked. "You paladins don't have it in you to kill." When it came to sparing innocent lives, the Galra were not ones to do so. The Galra happened to enjoy the bloodshed and the pleading that came from the poor soul that was under the barrel.
(Y/N)'s eye widened, their breath hitching in their throat. Sendak thought he could read the determined paladin well. He knew that they were vulnerable, for there was a fresh wound in their heart for having to say goodbye to the one they loved. So he simply was going to take advantage of it and irritate the wound some more.
(Y/N) slowly brought down their bayard, tightly shutting their eyes. They ticked their head to the side, frowning. "Y-you're right..."
Sendak sneered, seeing how the paladin lost their resolve. (Y/N)'s eyes twitched along with their brows, nose flaring. They took a few steps back before raising the bayard up to their eye, the barrel of the gun directed towards Sendak's head.
“I don't have it in me to kill,” They cocked the gun, maintaining their foreboding gaze. “But I do have it in me to kill shameless murderers.” Sendak's eyes widened, his smirk wiped from his face in a matter of seconds. He maintained a stature that masked his immediate shock. However, even Lance could probably tell he was thrown off guard.
Sendak snarled, grimacing. He reached his arm to his back and lifted the same gun all the other soldier seemed to carry with them from his harness. He positioned his feet apart ever so slightly and pointed the gun towards the direction of (Y/N). It seemed like he wanted a fair fight, which caught (Y/N) off guard.
“(Y/N),” He began. “I have a deal to offer.”
They stepped closer to Sendak, their hands gripping the bayard tighter. Their knuckles had become white, and their hand felt as if it was burning. “How do you know my name?”
Sendak snickered once more before lowering his gun some, but just high enough for it to still be a threat to (Y/N). He stepped towards them before (Y/N) motioned to the bayard that wasn't going to be anywhere. “We know enough about you Paladins. We know who your family is and who you have lost in your life. I know your sister died of a terrible illness and your father disappeared.” (Y/N) stood unfazed at Sendak's tactic to try to get in their head once more. Sendak snickered at the headstrong paladin. “And that your own mother thinks you're dead as well.”
(Y/N)'s heart dropped before they lightly chuckled, knitting their brow. “What makes you think I'd ever agree to your offer, or even listen for that matter?”
“Because we have sights on the escape pod that your friends left on, and they seem to be an easy target for our jets.”
(Y/N)'s choked on the tense air. They're arms slightly shaking, as if they were considering dropping their gun. “What? You don't think we keep track of our escape pods? Especially since we knew that you were on board?” Sendak mocked.
“It's a simple offer really. Give us the lions, and we'll let you and your friends go.” Sendak brushed his shoulder, as if it was actually a simple decision.
(Y/N) let it settle in their mind, thinking of all the possible outcomes that could become a reality if they accepted his offer. Not one of them being a good solution. “No.”
“Pardon?” Sendak was taken aback.
“I said no. Besides, you're lying.” They shrugged.
“How-”
“My friend hacked into the pods location, she made sure that you couldn't track it,” They scoffed. “So, no. The lions will not fall into dirty hands.”
Sendak played it off as if he couldn't care, but he was livid that his plans were not turning out the way he had wanted them. A simple chuckle was all he mustered before raising his gun once more at (Y/N). “Your choice.”
Sendak began to rapidly shoot at (Y/N), who was startled out of their position. They jumped from their spot and luckily dodged a few beams. Their heart felt as if it were to explode as they felt it thump harshly against their chest. They heaved before shooting at Sendak from behind a feeble barrier. Once they ducked down, they heard a loud grunt escape Sendak. They stood from their cover to discover they had gotten Sendak's shin, a substance seeping through his outerwear. He was doubled over, nostrils flaring rapidly. He looked up from his wound with a sinister scowl painted across his face.
(Y/N)'s eyes widened before they decided it was their chance to make a break for it. Their legs began to sprint them out of the control room, the bayard returning back to its original form between their hands. Their armored clamored against the metal ship, just like the Galra's. Their feet didn't stop, even when their breathing was hitched and dispersed. (Y/N) thought they would die on this Galra ship, their blood on Sendak's hands. However, it seemed like their death would be another day.
As they ran, they could hear banging of the Galra soldiers creep on them. They would turn their head just to make sure no one was on their ass. Though, as they were dashing through the Galra ship, an old feeling began to wash over them. Their feet felt heavier, along with the rest of their body. It felt almost harder to keep running but they knew they couldn't stop. But it eventually grew painful to even move, the littlest of movement was excruciating. They felt as if their body was being ripped apart, cell by cell, atom by atom. Their eyes watered as they bellowed out a pained wail.
“GAH!” (Y/N) cried, their voice raspy from the lack of air.
However, as quick as the unexpected throbbing started it ended in a matter of seconds, with (Y/N) in a place that was not the Galran ship they had infiltrated. Their body collapsed, lying limp on the cold metal ground, which happened to soothe their aching body. Their breathing was shaky and raced as they feebly attempted to push themselves up. Their arm buckled a few times underneath their weight, all of (Y/N)'s energy ripped from their body. Eventually they were able to prop themselves up to get a good look at their surroundings.
(Y/N)'s vision seemed to be somewhat impaired, blurred and whirring. No amount of blinking could possibly fix their sight. However, the energy the roomed thrummed was familiar and somewhat homely.
“...Fuck.” The groaned, muscles sore and tired.
They brought their legs to their chest, trying to gain their bearings. The lights caused them to squint as they sighed.
“Where the hell am I?” They mumbled.
Within a matter of seconds, a guttural roar shook the cabin they were resting in, causing them to quickly press their palms against their ears. The vibrations was sent up (Y/N)'s spine, quickly alerting them as to where they currently resided.
They were back in their lion.
