This dude's grip was deathly tight.

I guess that's completely understandable if you just had a near death experience.

I felt the boy's heart race rapidly on my back. His breathing was hurried and crazed. His hands were wrapped tight around me, completely petrified of the events that just transpired.

It didn't take me long to catch up to Midriff. I followed him to his desired destination, right on his tail.

After a few minutes of engines revving, a voice had inquired a question that was on my mind.

"Where are we going?"

"Somewhere." Midriff said blatantly, obviously focused on something else.

"Okay...wow, thanks. Really helpful." The voice was displeased and cautious.

After what seemed like hours of driving and small conversations is when I noticed how far I was from home. I didn't recognize this area at all.

I began to yearn for my bed, my shower, my guitar, everything.

It began to sink in how long it would take me to get back home. Hell, I didn't even know where to go from here.

As I dwelled in my thoughts, I noticed the lights that lustered above us, as if they were crystal in an untouched cavern.

They clouded the heavens like freckles on a childs face.

I never really got to see the stars, for there was an abundant amount of light pollution where I resided.

It was truly breath taking.

I noticed Midriff start to slowly cut the gas as we neared a remote home in the middle of a canyon. It felt homely but desolate. Like a child without it's family.

It's funny how we drove for what seemed like hours and miles, and yet, we were still within the canyon.

I was never going to find my way back myself.

We parked our cycles next to one another, everyone sighing with relief and fatigue, happy they made it out alive. Midriff called the two other passengers to help carry the unconscious man inside. After a few grunts and complaints, they diligently brought him inside.

I stepped off my cycle once the boy unclung himself from me, still visibly shaken.

He was traumatized.

I began to unfasten my helmet when I remembered I really knew none of these people. I wasn't quite comfortable on revealing my face so quickly.

I ponderously stretched and groaned, getting ready to head back home. As I turned to my cycle, I jumped when I felt something tap my shoulder.

It was the boy with the jacket I thought that was atrocious. He brought his hand to the back of his neck bashfully, preparing to speak.

"I just wanted to thank you for saving my butt back there. All our butts actually. Without you, I don't think we would have made it." He stuck his hand out in what seemed like camaraderie.

I hesitated for a moment, finally deciding to shake his hand firmly. I patted his shoulder, letting him know that it was no problem.

"The name's Lance, by the way," He smiled towards me, gaining confidence once again. "The big dude is Hunk. He's full of love, and he's one of my bros. The little guy is Pidge, and is a literal genius. The guy who almost killed me is Keith. He used to go to the Garrison as a fighter pilot, but got kicked out because he's quite the hothead." He made an expression that told me he didn't really take a liking to Midr- I mean Keith.

I can see why. The dude almost killed him.

"Oh, and the guy who's knocked out is Shiro. He was one of the people who went missing on the Kerberos mission."

I remember seeing something about that a year ago on the news. People wouldn't stop taking about it for a while. It took a few months in order for it to die down. No one really forgot about it though. I know I certainly didn't.

I couldn't really digest how Lance could just tell me all that information with no hesitation. I just met him, and he's acting like I've known him all my life.

"So what about you? Aren't you hot in that helmet?"

Extremely.

I glanced his way and shrugged, obviously leaving him unsatisfied. He wanted to know what I looked like and sounded like. I could tell. He wanted to see his night in shining armor.

Lance opened his mouth to say something once more, but was interrupted.

"You two should come inside and get some rest. It's late." A voice rang from the entrance of the door. Keith stood there quietly, awaiting our company.

I needed to get home, but I didn't know my way back. Even if Keith took me back to the area of the Garrison, I'd still be lost, for I arrived with the Tug.

Speaking of the Tug, I felt it raging inside me once more.

It was telling me to go in the house.
