There was no lying this time. There was no way to avoid the hurt in David's eyes as he looked at Peter and I as we walked out of the bedroom. There was no escape to what I just done.

David's eyes burned with rage as he turned and headed out of the house. "David, wait!" I yelled as I ran out after him. Peter tried to stop me, but I pulled free from his hand and continued after David.

I got outside and David was on a mission to his Tesla. "David!" I screamed and he ignored me, but I caught up to him as he opened the drivers side door to his car. I shut the door before he could get in and before I even knew what was happening, David slammed me up against the car.

"Why would you do that?!" He yelled, both arms on either side of me, blocking me into the car. "Why would you sleep with him?"

He was angry, but I could tell he was near tears. "I'm sorry, Dave.." I said. "I didn't mean for it to happen."

He took a deep breath and looked down, his chest heaving as he tried to calm down his breathing. "Carlie, you can't keep doing this to me."

"Doing what?" I asked, barely above a whisper. I was scared to ask.

David looked up and his nose grazed mine as he continued panting. "Making me want you." He said.

I gulped from the intensity of his eyes and his voice. I didn't know what to say.

"You make me want you.." He said, his voice breaking. "But you break my heart all the same time. You lied to me about Heath. And then just when I think I'm on the road to getting over that.. you sleep with someone else."

I hated how guilty I felt right now. I shouldn't feel guilty because we aren't together and I can do what I want. But looking at the hurt in David's eyes makes me feel like I shouldn't.

"I'm sorry, David." I said, sincerely looking into his eyes.

"Are you?" He asked, furrowing his eyebrows.

"Of course I am!" I said, not believing he would even ask me that.

"Then why do you keep doing it, Carlie?" He asked deadpanning me. "Why do you keep putting me in this position?"

"David, we aren't together. I have the right to sleep with whoever I want to.. I'm just sorry that I did something that hurt you. Because I would never intentionally do that."

He nodded, but he still looked angry as he looked away.

I searched for more to say, feeling the need to explain. But suddenly, he looked back at me and grabbed my face as he slammed his lips on mine. My eyes went wide and I tried to push him off, but he pressed me up against his car. It reminded me of our first date.

I melted into his kiss as the shock wore off. He slid his hands down my sides until he reached my thighs. He picked me up and slammed me against the car roughly, making me moan into his mouth. He trailed from my mouth, down the side of my face, to my neck. He sucked on the skin there until I'm sure he left a mark, my hands tangled in his hair as he did so.

His mouth came back to mine and and he squeezed my backside as he slid his tongue into my mouth. My hands slid down his back and started to pull at the hem of his shirt, when he pulled away and dropped me. It happened so suddenly that my knees went weak and I almost fell. He stepped away from me and I furrowed my eyebrows as he opened the car door.

Before he got in, he looked back at me and said, "Remember that the next time you want to sleep with anyone else."

Then he got into the car and drove away from the house, leaving me a dumbfounded mess.

"I need a drink," I said to myself as I headed back inside to the party.

"Are you okay?" Jessi said, coming up to me as I entered the house.

"I think so. I just need a drink. Where's Peter?" I said, looking for wine.

"I'm not sure," she said as I finally found a bottle of wine and poured myself a glass.

"I think I'm ready to crash. I'm gonna get an Uber." I said.

"Okay," Jessi pouted. "Don't forget to tell Gabbie bye."

"I won't." I said as Jessi went back to the party. I was looking for Gabbie when I stumbled upon Heath. "Hey."

He looked up from his phone. "Hey."

I sat down on the couch next to him, slumping down. "I'm an awful person."

"Why?" He asked, setting his phone down on the coffee table.

"I just slept with Peter."

Heath tried to hide his distain, but I saw it all over his face. "Why is that bad? You're single. You can do what you want."

"I know but David got really upset when he saw us."

"He saw you?!"

"No, not like that!" I said, hitting him. "He saw us afterwards leaving the bedroom. It was pretty obvious what had happened."

"Damn, poor David."

"That's really making me feel better, Heath. Thanks."

He chuckled. "I mean, you slept with me. Now with Peter and you never even had sex with him. The boy is probably dying of lack of contact."

I hit Heath in the arm again. "Well, he just kissed me outside pretty roughly, so I'd say he had plenty of contact."

Heath raised his eyebrows and then his eyes flicked behind me, making eye contact with someone else. My heart dropped. I turned slowly to see Peter there. He gritted his teeth.

"Peter wait-" I said, but he stormed off.

I sighed and looked over at Heath in desperation.

"Damn, baby. You just can't catch a break."
