Hank and Charles stood behind us in the hallway as they strapped makeshift wings onto Sean's body. They were making him jump out of a window in order to test his banshee-ness and see if he can use it to help him fly.

I leaned against the window next to Erik where Raven stood behind him and Alex behind me. We smushed ourselves all into the tiny window in order to watch this unfold but in the midst of us watching an arm wrapped its way around my waist pulling the owner of it closer to me. I looked down at the arm to notice it was Alex's.

I smiled slightly to myself but out of the corner of my eye I could see a smirk forming on his face as he watched me and pulled himself closer to see further out the window.

"Now remember scream as hard as you can." Charles spoke to Sean from the window over. All he responded with was a slight mhm as he stared down at the bushes that did not look comfortable to land in if this were to fail.

Hank rambled on about how the sound waves should carry Sean but by his poor choice of using the word 'should' it only made Sean more nervous. He stared back down at the bushes almost like he was going to vomit but he formed a cross across his chest as Charles and Hank ducked back into the room. Sean stretched out his arms like a bat making us all laugh a little before pushing himself off the ledge as a small squeal left his mouth. That failed tremendously.

"Hey Sean." I yelled out to him.

"Yeah." He barely managed to mumble.

"You forgot to scream." I joked making everyone laugh followed by him only groaning in pain and annoyance.

Hank and Charles sighed before leaving the hallway we stood in.

"At this rate, we'll never defeat Shaw." Erik mumbled before leaving in the opposite direction. I shook my head at him before also leaving the room.

"We went our whole lives without control of our abilities, it's going to take a while to know how to use it." I yelled to Erik. He stopped turning swiftly to face me again. He was angry.

"Maybe all of you should start taking this seriously." He mumbled before completely walking away now. I subconsciously rolled my eyes at the back of his head.

"He has the personality of a wall." I commented making Alex laugh. I laughed a little remembering the same phrase my mother would say about my father. I paused and thought to myself, weird coincidence.

"You think we'll be able to control it?" Alex asked curiously. I smiled, "Yeah I think so. At least I hope so. My power hasn't ever been able to help anyone unless I was touching them."

"What do you mean? You can only heal someone through physical contact?" By now we were making our way to one of the hallways that consisted of rooms. Charles demanded us to find our rooms we would be staying in, in order to get a lot of rest.

"Or destroy someone. That's also only with physical contact." I stopped outside one of the rooms examining it. No one else has taken it so I declared it as mine.

I plopped down on the bed and let out a sigh feeling a dip in it next to me. I glanced up to see Alex staring at me. "What?"

"Can you show me?"

I frowned at him, "Show you what?"

"Destruction." He simply spoke making me stiffen. Every time I use the ability on someone its to kill them and I can never stop it. The power prevents me from stopping.

"I-I can't do that." I quickly shook my head.

"Why not? You can heal right. So when you destroy something, just heal over it." He said as if he understood everything and knew what exactly to do.

"You don't understand, I might not be able to stop." I whispered.

"Then I'll stop you. I'll pull you away forcing you to stop." He nodded with a reassuring smile. I liked seeing him smile since he rarely does it.

"That's dangerous." I laughed.

"I trust you."
