They decided that I was going to be put on a warning. Apparently I was the common denominator: the fight was because of me. The only reason they didn't kick me out immediately was because they weren't sure how Antonia would cope. And Jay was leaving, of course.

Staff found out about the kiss, obviously. The news of it had spread like wildfire. I was banned from talking to Robbie too much, which really hurt my feelings. Why was I the bad guy? I didn't do that much wrong.

Alice found me crying in my room after everything had kicked off. They had called my parents in to talk about it and Kai was supposed to be coming in to visit me for the first time in ages.

But he was late. Again.

Alice had always been gentle and soft with me, almost like a big sister. She sat on the end of my bed and waited for me to stop crying.

"I see a lot of myself in you." Alice said kindly.

I didn't reply.

"When I was younger I was left in a house on my own. My family just left me there like an abandoned puppy. I was so naive and frightened of the world that I just stayed there. Eventually four teenage boys broke into the house." Alice relayed.

I looked up. "What happened?"

"They set the house on fire. They didn't know I was up in the attic until they saw me at the window through the smoke. One of them, Corey, rescued me. They took me in and made best friends with me. And after some ups, downs and relapses, I'm now married to Corey." She smiled thinking about it.

Wiping my tears, I took a shaky breath in. "That sounds like something out of a romance novel."

"Yeah! I guess what I'm saying is that I needed someone to come and help make me happy. I think that's what you need." She raised an eyebrow. "And I think you've found them."

"Jay?" I looked out of the window. "I don't like him."

"No, no." She chuckled softly. "You menace. You've got boys falling at your feet, haven't you? I'm talking about Robbie."

"Oh." Guilt ate at my throat. "Robbie."

"I don't want to work as a match maker but I think you two get on quite well." She tried to lighten the mood, nudging me with her elbow.

"Just because we get on well doesn't mean we have to get married." I crossed my legs and pulled them up to my chin. Taking a deep breath, I looked straight at her. "But I do think that he's alright."

"Alright?" Alice chuckled. "You make me laugh, Bell."

We were interrupted by a quiet knock on the door, to which Alice stood up and answered. Kai stood there timidly, his shoulders hunched. "Hello."

"Hi, how are you?" Alice grinned.

"Yeah, alright." He nodded, not sounding too sure. I wiped my remaining tears, but he had already noticed.

Alice paused. "I'll leave you guys alone for a while. See you later, Bella."

"See you later." I echoed.

Once Alice was safely shut out of my room, Kai sat on the end of my bed. Neither of us dared speak. After what felt like an eternity, I opened my mouth.

"Why haven't you come to visit me for ages?" I asked him.

He looked up. After stumbling over his thoughts, he took a deep breath. "Because I feel like this is all my fault."

I frowned. "Why? How is it...?"

"You grew up watching me have all these issues. It was inevitable that you'd end up like me. For that I'll eternally wish I was a better brother. I shouldn't hidden it from you." He looked at the floor.

"Is that why you had a massive go at me when I first got here? Because you felt so bad that I was feeling depressed?" I scowled at him. Maybe that was too harsh.

"No, I... There was something else on my mind. I took it out on you. I'm sorry."

"What was on your mind?" I asked.

"Bella..." He looked like he had been waiting to tell me this for ages. "Ash and I are on a break."

I almost choked on the air I was breathing. "What?"

"I cheated. A couple of months ago... We tried to keep it going, but... In a relationship there are some things you just can't get over." Kai bit his lip and trailed off.

"Why did you cheat on her? You love her!" I sat up, angry.

"I... I'd been with Ash for so long... I guess I wanted to test the waters. It sounds awful, I know." He looked like he had been broken and stitched back up by someone who couldn't sew. "We're not broken up forever, though. It's a break. Time to think."

"But... You can't." I pleaded. "I love Ash!"

"Me too." He pulled himself up on the bed properly and leaned his back against the wall. "Me too."

No one said anything for a moment.

"Adrianna's having her baby soon." Kai changed the subject.

I perked up. "How soon?"

"Eight weeks." He grinned.

"No way!" I smiled. "Did they find out the sex yet?"

"Nope. It's a surprise." Kai smiled. "And I've got a surprise for you."

"What is it?" I got nervous.

"Adrianna and Felix are coming to see you at the weekend. They insisted on seeing if you were okay." Kai revealed.

I screamed and jumped off the bed. "No way!"

"Yes way. And guess who's coming to see you on Wednesday?" He winked.

"Who?" I held my breath.

"Devin and Meredith." He put me out of my misery. I screamed again and clasped my hands together. Kai chuckled at me.

"Are they allowed to bring Dinosaur?" I asked.

"They don't usually allow animals, but they've made an exception." Kai smiled and covered his ears. "Please don't scream again."

I jumped on the bed and sat right next to him.

"Are you happy?" He smiled at me.

"Yes. Very happy." I leant against the wall with him. "I can't wait."

He looked glad. "Do you forgive me for being horrible?"

I paused for a moment, scrutinising him slightly. "I suppose. As you are my big brother."

"That's the spirit." He messed up my hair.
