The hospital was open and white.

The five of us walked down the hallway until we saw the sign for the 'Mother and Baby Unit', at which point we looked at each other and grinned before opening the door and going in.

Coming out of the bathroom, a nurse nearly walked straight into us. She took one look at the group of us dressed almost entirely in black and smiled. "You must be here to see Adrianna and Felix."

"Yeah." Ashley giggled. "Is it that obvious?"

The nurse laughed. "Down the hallway and to the right. You'll love the baby: the sweetest little thing I've ever seen."

We thanked her quickly and walked down the hallway as fast as we could. All of us (Ashley, Kai, Devin, Meredith and I) had been excitedly chatting in the car, but now we were silent. I was nervous, but as soon as we saw them I forgot all about it.

Adrianna was laying in the hospital bed with the blanket covering her and Felix was sitting on the end of the white sheets, clutching a tiny blue bundle that slept soundly in his arms.

They both looked up and made eye contact with us, smiling even more brightly than they had been before. Felix gestured for us to come over. We did, slowly and carefully. The five of us craned our necks to see the bundle, and when I caught sight of it I felt my heart melt.

The tiny baby lay in Felix's arms with its' tiny face screwed up and its' tiny hands in tight fists. He was dressed in a tiny blue onesie that was far too big for his tiny little body. I didn't think I'd ever seen someone so tiny in all my life.

He had Felix's face. That was undeniable. His little jaw and mouth and nose could've been Felix's shrunk down. But his hair was that same dark brown shade as Adrianna's, thin and whispy. His skin looked soft and I just wanted to hold him.

Felix's eyes were bright, shiny and proud. Adrianna looked tired. They looked like excited new parents, which was a new look for them.

"He's called Soren." Felix announced gently.

No one knew what to say, so we all stood there respectfully and apprehensively. Adrianna giggled at us. "He won't bite, guys."

"He's so cute." Ashley said softly.

When I turned to look at everyone else, I saw that Ashley had tears in her eyes. Devin looked like he was holding in tears, and Meredith and Kai looked so awestruck by this beautiful little child that their faces were frozen like photos.

"Hey, Bella, come here." Felix gestured. "Soren wants to meet his new best friend."

I hesitated, feeling awkward, but seeing the new baby sitting there that I had wanted to meet for nine months made me forget my shyness. Slowly, I stepped forward and sat on the bed, waiting for Felix to place Soren in my arms. He did, and an unbreakable grin broke out on my face.

As soon as he touched my lap, Soren opened his eyes for a moment, and I saw the hidden green for a split second before he closed them again. Kai chuckled. "He likes you!"

"I like him, too." I said.

I reached out my finger and slipped it into his tiny, warm hand in an action equivalent to holding hands. He squeezed my finger tightly and twitched his foot.

"Does he know I'm someone else? Like, other than his parents?" I asked Adrianna.

She nodded. "Talk to him. Let him know who you are."

"Yeah." Ashley smiled. "Don't be rude. Introduce yourself."

Nervously, I put my face close to Soren's. "Hi."

Everyone laughed.

I blushed a little, embarrassed, but still laughed with them. Soren kicked his leg.

"Soren's telling us not to laugh at how awkward you are." Felix said kindly, pointing at the leg Soren kicked. "Alright, Soren, sorry. We'll let you have a chat."

"My name's Bella." I said to the baby. "I'm sixteen, and I've been really excited to meet you."

Adrianna spoke in a high pitched voice behind me. "Hello, Bella, I'm Soren."

I giggled and turned round. "Why did you make him sound like Mickey Mouse?"

"Yeah, he can't defend himself yet. Leave the little dude alone. He might have a really deep voice." Devin piped up.

Adrianna stuck her tongue out at us.

I looked up at Felix and noticed him smiling at me. I'd never seen anyone look so proud before. His eyes were sparkling and bubbly, like a thousand glasses of champagne.

"I can't believe he's finally here." Felix whispered.

I couldn't, either. That baby represented everything I had fought in the last year. Every tear, every moment of anger and every time I thought I should give up was worth it for this baby. Meeting Soren had been my motivation, and here he was in my arms. Everything was okay.

I suppose for Felix, Soren had that same significance. Felix had been through a lot, and now he had another life to worry about. Another life that would completely improve his for the rest of time. Adrianna and him had created something beautiful, and they were going to cherish it forever.

And so we all sat silently and watched the newest member of our friendship group lie quietly in my lap, a look of pride and happiness in each of our faces.

A/N: and that's the end!

What did you guys think of this book? It was definitely a lot of fun to write. I love all of your comments and votes and reads so much and I'm so grateful for you! If you ever ever need anything then please message me. I'd love to hear from you.

Also, if you want me to add your book/books to my reading list then let me know. It might be nice to get your books out there on a public reading list. Plus I'll read them too!

My next book will be up in the next week at some point, and I've already worked on some of it and I love it.

It'll be a direct continuation from this book, and focuses on a few new friends that have joined Bella's friendship group. The name is 'Cigarette Girl' and it's a little darker and more romantic than I've done before.

See you there! Love you guys more than anything and thanks for helping my dreams come true!

Stay strong ❤️
