Obsessive, Compulsive.

Twenty Nine.

My bedroom door opened quietly and Meredith's head poked round the blue paint. "Hi."

Shyness took over me for a moment and I blushed deeply. "Hello."

"Can I come in?" She asked.

Flustered, I stood up. "Yeah, come in..."

Meredith smiled and walked in. She had always been skinny and pale and hadn't changed a bit. She blinked softly and outstretched her arms. "Give me a hug, Bella. I've missed you."

I relaxed and walked into her arms, giving her a deep hug. Meredith hugged back ever so gently. However old she got she always seemed like a nervous twelve year old.

The door crashed open and Devin half fell through. "Crap. Hi everyone."

"Hi! Where's Dinosaur?" I asked. Devin gestured like a magician's assistant and Ashley walked in clutching the little dog. I ran up to them. "Dinosaur!"

Dinosaur licked my forehead and I giggled.

"Wow. I don't exist." Ashley joked.

I flushed red. "Hi."

"Give me a hug." Ash pulled me in and we hugged tightly. As we moved back she laughed. "Dinosaur got squashed."

"Poor boy." I patted him on the head. "He could've become a pancake."

There was a quiet moment where everyone looked around at the room and I went back to sit on my bed.

"So this is your bedroom, huh?" Devin crossed his arms. "It ain't even that bad. I mean, not as fancy as at home, but it's alright. How have you been doing here?"

"I want to go home." I said. "But I'm going to be out in time to see Adrianna's baby just after it's been born. That's my goal."

"The baby'll be here soon." Ashley said softly. "You sure you can do it?"

"Of course she can!" Devin raised his eyebrow and came to sit with me on my bed. "She's Kai's sister. She can do anything."

Ashley prickled at the mention of Kai and Meredith coughed nervously to give Devin a hint to shut up. I looked at my feet.

"I mean, he's a fucking legend." Devin continued.

Kai's friendship group all used to joke about Kai and Devin being in love. Everyone shipped them as Kevin, which sort of stuck, and whenever they were together people would end up referring to them as one entity.

Interrupting him to put a stop to the awkwardness, I asked about Ash's cousin and her boyfriend. "How's Tyler and Juliette?"

"Worried about you!" Ashley sighed gratefully. "They want to come and see you."

"My friend Antonia loves Tyler's band. She was so excited to meet Felix the other day." I smiled just thinking about it.

"I'll try and set up a date they can come see you, then." Ash nodded.

Devin shuffled a bit and looked at Meredith, who shook her head. Ash stared at both of them.

"What?" I asked.

Ashley took a deep breath. "Should we tell her?"

Meredith looked at Devin, who nodded.

"Well, you know we all used to live in a house together? Adrianna, Felix, Kai, Devin, Meredith and me?" Ash asked.

I nodded.

"Well, we've all bought another house together. Back in our hometown. So, basically... We're all moving back together again and we're living in our old town."

"So you're going to live near me again?" My voice bounced with excitement.

All three of them nodded.

I squeaked and jumped up and down. "That's why Felix is getting a job here!"

"Yeah." Devin laughed. "It'll be Ash, Kai, Tyler, Juliette and Meredith and I in one house. Adrianna and Felix are going to live down the road because they'll have a baby. They need their own space."

"That's insane." I grinned, suddenly remembering their old friend. "Hey, you guys will live near Sierra again!"

"Yeah, it'll be great." Devin nodded.

"Won't it be awkward?" I looked at Ashley.

"Won't what be awkward?" She frowned.

"Living with Kai."

Everyone stopped and Ash looked at Devin and Meredith. "Can you guys give me a minute to talk things through with her? I don't think he's told her anything that's happened." She sighed.

They both nodded and left the room, leaving it cold, quiet and awkward.
