Bradie

Today was Monday and I decided I was going to go back to school. Hayes told me he wouldn't leave my side until he absolutely had to, like going to a different class or the bathroom or something.

I woke up from the sound of my alarm and walked over to my closet. I didn't even get the chance to wear half of my my school clothes because I was gone the second week of school.

I was tearing up thinking that I wasn't going to have Dylan with me this year. Or ever again. I've had these thoughts a lot lately.

I put on my make up; grey liquid eyeliner on the top and black on my water line, some light nude eyeshadow and mascara. I stepped down the stairs dreading it. I saw my mom in the kitchen with breakfast on the table, "hey honey I made you some blueberry pancakes." She only makes pancakes on the first day of school and birthdays, but you could say that today is my first day.

"Thanks," I replied sitting down.

I hate my breakfast in about 10 minutes and I just sat there staring at the door like I was waiting for Dylan to walk through any minute like he always did. "Sweetie," my mother sighed, "he's not going to walk through the door."

I felt my eyes stinging and I was on the verge of tears. I'm still in shock I guess.

"I know," she got up and hugged me, something I would usually protest against, but I needed a hug.

"Okay mom," I shrugged her off. "I got to go. Ryan! come on!"

He ran down the stairs, looking surprised. "Didn't expect to see you coming to school."

"Have to go back eventually right? Let's go, we can pick up Hayes on the way."

"Ooooo, Hayes," he said with a smirk.

"Why does everyone say that?"

"Because everybody in the freshman class knows he likes you. He just has to ask you out. And you have to admit you like him so I can tell him and then he can ask you out." Why does my brother all of the sudden take an interest in my life?

"What! Is this why you're talking to me? so you can find out that I like him-" I'm laughing my words before he cuts me off.

"You do!? Yes!" he said in a way to excited tone.

"Ryan! shut up!" He didn't so I had to cover his mouth with my hand. He kept trying to talk through it. I finally let go when I saw Hayes walking out of his house

"Hayes! Come on!"

He jogged over to us and he draped his arm over my shoulder, "so it's B's first day back at school! How ya feelin'?" Ryan elbowed me in my arm hinting to Hayes.

"Never been better," I said sarcastically and elbowed Ryan in the ribs it get him back.

"Well don't worry I'll be here," he smiled at me. I love his smile. It can brighten my day and guess it's gonna have too.

After our 5 minutes our bus got to the stop and Ryan sat by me and Hayes. I was a little confused but I figured my mom had told him to be around me all day. When the buses got to school the bell rang and we got off.

Immediately 3 people ran up to be and swarmed me with hugs. It was my friends Kelly, Andie (short for Alexandria), and Joely.

"Oh my gosh, we've missed you so much," they all said in union.

"I've missed you guys too," I said laughing. I really did miss them.

All day so far people have been giving me hugs. Even teachers. It was kinda weird but they were trying to be nice so I guess I didn't mind it kinda felt good. Even some of Hayes' friends had said gave me hugs.

It was now lunch time and I was doing okay. Hayes hasn't left my side and it felt kinda good. I was at my locker getting my lunch when the lunch bell rang. After a few seconds no body was in the halls but me.

I stood against my locker and I was staring at Dylan's old locker. Sitting there empty.

Hayes

Every one was at lunch but B. And I was kinda worried because I used to notice she was always on time to lunch.

I looked around the cafeteria and didn't see her anywhere. I was sitting at B's table now sense she asked me too. And I gladly excepted. I loved being around her.

"Hey guys have you seen B?" I asked the girls

They all looked at each other with worried faces. Kelly spoke up, "she let you call her B?"

"Yeah she said it was fine." I tried my best to ignore what she was implying, I just looked around the lunch room. "Just where is she?"

"I don't know. She's probably in the bathroom," Andie said.

"You're girls you don't you guys, like, not go to the bathroom alone?" They all laughed. Ryan was sitting with us too and a couple other guys.

"I'm going to look. Be right back." I told them and walked out of the cafeteria.
