↠BradieMe and Nash were just sitting in silence. I had my head resting on Nash's shoulder. We here just sitting side leaning up against the wall. I was starring at Hayes' room. His door was shut but I could imagine him lying there, asleep. I didn't know if Nash was looking at his door too but I imagined he was. "I miss him. I just want to speak to him and hear his voice. And I want to see his bright blue eyes." I could tell a smile crept on Nash's face when I said that. He didn't respond but that was okay. I just wanted to say that.
While I was staring at his door a bunch of memories came flooding back, but they were ones I didn't recognize. People I don't remember, scenes I don't remember happening any time recently. I felt like I was younger when these events where happening. But for some reason they just seemed familiar. Like you know when you're doing nothing and you just go back and think about things that happened in the past, that's what I was doing but these new ones just popped into my head. "Oh my gosh." I stood up from my spot once I realized what was going on.
"What?" Nash looked up at me confused. I completely ignored his question and ran off from where we were to go find my mom in the waiting room.
Once I found my mom sitting and talking to the Grier's family. Some more people had arrived and I was assuming they were his grand parents. "Oh honey there you are. Where were you, Nash said he went to look for you?"
"That's not important. Can I see your wallet please?" I went closer to her. I talked fast because I was very eager.
"Why?" she asked.
"Just please. It's an emergency. Kind of."
She sighed and dug through her purse to hand me her wallet. I looked through her wallet to find a picture I found a long time ago when I was looking at the pictures she kept in there. It was kept behind another picture but my mom always kept it with her. But I wasn't sure why. I slid out the picture and studied it. "Why are you looking at that?!" my mom stood up from her chair.
"It's them. I remember them." I looked up from the picture. I looked my mom straight in the eyes and I could see her tearing up. I heard someone come up behind me and I was assuming it was Nash.
"What was that Bradie?" yes it was him.
I didn't answer his question again.
"What?" my mom asked quietly.
I stared at the picture of a man and a women, two young boys and two young girls.
"My family." I looked her straight in the eyes. I could feel my lips quivering and my eyes slowly filling with water. My mom stepped forward and embraced me in a hug. I hugged her back and I cried into her shoulder. After almost 8 years I finally remember my biological family. I had lost my memory in the accident; so I had no clue of them except for what I was told.
"I'm so happy for you baby girl." I mom whispered in my ear. She kept running her hand over the back of my head.
"I can't believe I remember them." I whispered back. I looked at the picture in my hand another time. My chin was rested on my moms shoulder and I lifts my arm up so I could see it. I pulled back from our hug and gave her an uneasy look, "wait, I thought I only had one brother?" I looked at the date on the picture and it think it was taken around the same time as the accident. So I was 6 years old, and he looked my age. We actually looked alike.
"You have a twin." My mom said softly. I looked around the waiting room to see everyone staring at me.
"Have? Or had?" I spoke with conviction.
"Have. You have a twin brother. And he's still alive. He survived. Like you."
The words rung in my head. I spun around to see everyone staring at me. The all looked concerned. I saw a lady with a clip bored approach us.
↠Nash
When Bradie turned around to face me I could see her heart slowly braking inside. This poor girl has gone through so much and she just finds out that she has a brother that's still alive when her entire biological family had died she finds out he didn't. And she knew nothing of him. I could see the hurt in her eyes and I know when she's with my little brother that all of that hurt can disappear when she's with him.
And when he is here she gets her life back. I love when they're together to be honest. I think that they're good for each other.I heard footsteps behind me so I turned around. I'm pretty sure it was Hayes' nurse. "Hello, are you the Grier family?" she asked.
"Yes." My mom answered her.
"Great, I'd like to inform you that your son is now stable and you can see him."
Once she finished her sentence I saw Bradie sprint past me. I turned around to see everyone get up to follow. My mom was about to walk past me when I put my arm out to stop her. She looked at me confused and I looked her in the eyes, I actually had to look down because I was taller than her. "Let her go alone right now. Trust me. She needs him."
