↠Bradie
I rode Ryan's Penny board to school today. Now I was getting it out of my locker to head home. Hayes wasn't at school today and I still wasn't talking to him. He's called and texted me serval times. I actually open up his texts so he can tell I read them just to annoy him. It's kinda funny actually. I grabbed my bag and swung it over my shoulder. I took the board and clung on to it and headed out the doors.
"Hey Bradie!" I heard from behind me. I kept riding and ignored the person.
They called my name again and it sounded like they got much closer. The closer they got it should like I could hear another board on the sidewalk pavement. I put my foot down and stopped. I stood in place and waited for the person to catch up to me. He walked walked in front of me. A boy with blond hair-perfectly done- brown eyes and a jaw line you could melt for.
"Liam!" I jumped into his arms. He picked me up and spun me around. He set me on the ground but we were still hugging. "Oh my gosh I missed you so much!" I told him.
He rubbed my back, "I missed you to girl." We let go of our hug and just looked at each other. "Still got that curly hair?" he ruffled my hair with his fingers and laughed. He was taller than me but not by to much. He was probably the same hight as Hayes or a little taller. He still looked like the same Liam I last saw 3 years ago. I smiled and nodded my head yes at his question.
We walked back to his house. I carried my penny board at my side. We talked the entire time. There were no silent spaces; we just caught up on the things we missed out on for not really talking for years. I even explained to him about Dylan. I was surprised at my self when I could get through the story without breaking down. And to be honest with my self I didn't know if that was good or bad. He told me how he missed Dylan he we wished that he could have been better friends with him m; but it's to late now. You have to take chances while you have them. Hayes did come up in this conversation, but not that he's in the hospital or that we had a big fight. And I felt that I didn't really need to mention it.
When we got back it his house we went right outside onto the trampoline. We did stupid stuff in his backyard. He actually had a really cool backyard; he had a half basketball court, sense he plays, trampoline, a tree house probably for his younger twin sisters, soccer net (also sisters), and one if those play sets with a slide, swings and money bars.
By the time I went home it was around 6. Liam offered to walk me home but I declined. It was about a 5 minute walk from his house to mine. When I walked in the front door my mom was sitting in the couch with her legs up on the foot stool looking through a magazine. "Hi honey. Who's house were you at?" she asked me. I told her I was going over to a friends house but not who's.
"Uh, Liam's." I hadn't told her that Liam moved back yet because I actually just found out today. Yes I knew he was moving back but not the day.
"Liam?" she had a tone in her voice like she knows it's my old friend Liam but isn't sure.
"Devenfore." Saying his last name.
"The one that moved away?" She closed her magazine and sat it next to her.
"Yes. He moved back, I just walked back from his house. He lives in this neighborhood again. Today was his first day at school," I explained. A grin appeared on her face and he nodded her head like she had something in mind. Like she thought we would be a couple or something.
"Anyway," she continued "Hayes is home, he got home around 1. You can go see him." I didn't tell her about him and I's fight and I guess Ryan didn't either. Well I'm not close with my mom and I don't tell her much. I guess when I found out I was adopted I lost connection. But I still call her mom.
But I did want to see Hayes. I do want to see him. Actually more than ever. I dropped my bag that was on during my conversation with my mom and sprinted out the door. I guess it started raining while I was talking to my mom, actually poring. I was soaking wet by the time I got to Hayes' front door. They had a little awning above the door so I stopped getting poured on. I pounded on the door so who ever was in the living room could hear me over the loud sound of the rain. I only waited a few seconds for someone to pull back the door.
He was standing there with his bright blue eyes and no longer shaggy hair. He had cut it; short on the sides and done in a quiff. For the past year or two he has always looked older for his aged. But wow.
Honestly if I didn't know him I would think he was 16.
He was wearing black sweats that got tighter around his ankles with a t-shirt. I felt my eyes stinging and my lips quivering. I don't even really know why I was about you cry. I guess just seeing him. Knowing that we were in a fight, knowing that he thought that of me, but also knowing that I love him and we were just mad at each other. I missed him. Even though it was a day, but the fact that he wasn't even hear it I couldn't talk to him mad me miss him more.
My lips were slowly curving upwards just from looking at him. He opened his arms like he was waiting for a hug, "come here" he says. I take a couple steps forward and went into in arms. I buried my head in his chest and let him warm me from the cold rain. "How's my girl?" He added.
I smiled. "I missed you." I looked up at him still grasped on to his torso and he looked down at me. He stared into my green eyes.
"I missed you too. And I'm so sorry. I was way out of line and I should not have said that to you and I completely-" I went on my toes and pressed my lips to his to shut him up.
